TO- ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, J, E. CAMPBELL, of the city of Cii1cinnati,`county of Hamilton, and State of Ohio, have invented a new and improved Bcd-Bottoing and I do hereby declare that thel following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings and to the letters thereon.
Figure l shows the connection to the bedstead. Letters A and are sides of the double-sided. slot; letter D the Wooden pins.
Figure 2, side view of half section of the slot and bed rail, or board, attached to the rail with the Wooden pins in it.
Figure 3, view of slot up side down.
The nature of my invention or improvement consists in attaching a rubber ring to the slat by Wooden pins, 4leaving the other side of the ring free to be attached to a similar pin or pins in the bed rail, or in a board attached to the inside of the rail.
The improvement consists in using a rubber ring of proper size, and in connecting it to the slet with Wooden pins, dispensing with either rivets, clamps, or hooks, and the rubberA being much more elastic than girthing, or that made from part rubber and part thread, which cau only stretch the iength of the threads in it. And the 'improvement further consists in the Wooden pins protruding through the slot, as shown at letter D of drawing, so that the Slat can be turned up side down, and used that way, so as to take the sagging out that -will of course get into a Slat that has been used with only one side up.
What I claim as my invention, is
The two-sided slat, and the wooden pins running through it equally on both sides, and the elastic rubber ring, ready to be attached to the beilsteafl, as above ciescribed.
