TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Be it known that I, JAMES L; PATTERSON, of Wheeler Station, in the county of Porter, and State of Indiana, have invented a new and useful device-for Hanging up Brooms and I do hereby-declare and make known that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference'being had to the accompanying drawingsfand the letters and figures marked thereon, which form part ofthis speciiicatiom said invention consists in a ring to be screwed upon or otherwise attached to the end of a broom handle7 provided with a hook or other suitable device for hanging up the same, sothat thebroom may be readily hung up out of the way, whennot in use, as required.

To enable those skilled in the art to understand how to construct and use my invention, I will proceed to describe the same with particularity, making reference in so doing to the aforesaid drawings, in which- Figure 1 represents a side view of my invention, with the broom attached'and hung up; and

Figure 2 is a transverse central section of the same.

A represents the ring which ts upon the end: of the broom handle, marked C, being provided with a female screw so as more securely to adhere thereto,by being turned upon the same, or thelsaid interior surface may be without the screw, fitting .tightly enough in such case upon the handle to adhere without such provision. yB

as shown in iig.' 1. Instead of being constructed in the form shown, the said arrangement, B, whereby the suspension is efected, may be made in form of a hook, butI prefer the form as herein shown, as being more convenient and symmetrical. I

Having described the construction and operationof my inventonLI will now specify what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent:

I claim the ring A, in combination with a bail or hook B, arranged and operating substantially as and for the purposes set forth. y
