.To all whom, t may concern.:

Be it known that I, WILLIAM IRMSCHER, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Table Implements, of which the following is a speciication, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof, in which similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.

rIhis invention relates to table implements; and the object thereof is to provide a device of this class which is simple in construction and operation and also comparatively inexpensive, a further object being to provide a cornehclder or device by means of which an ear of hot corn may be manipulated without applying the hands thereto and also a su pport for said device when in use.

The invention is fully disclosed in the following specification, of which the accompanying drawings form a part, in which- Figure l is a side view of a corn-holder and my improved. support, and Fig. 2 an end view of the support.

In the practice of my invention Iprovide a corn-holder which consists of two separate similar parts, each of which is adapted to be connected with one end of an ear of corn and each of which comprises a handle A, to which is secured a fork B, which is adapted to be inserted into the end of an ear of corn, and the fork B is composed of a strong stiff wire, the middle portion of which is bent to form a shank b, which is secured to the handle in any desired manner; but my invention is not limited to this construction, and the fork B and handle A may be of any desired form. I also provide a support which is composed of wire bent into the form shown in Figs. l and 2. In this operation two separate pieces of wire are preferably employed, each of which is bent to form an end piece which comprises two standards D and D2, which are united at the top by a cross-piece d, which is bent to form a depending yoke or loop, and one end of the wire is bent to form a foot d2, and the other end is bent upwardly, as shown at cl3, and projected horizontally, as shown at d, and each of the ends d4 is formed into a ring or loop d5, which'is adapted to inclose the other horizontal portion d4, as clearly shown in Fig. l. As thus constructed the ends are adjustable longitudinally and are adapted to be brought nearer together or separated, as will be readily understood, and the sup port is also by this means adapted for use in connection with ears of corn of different lengths.

The operation will be readily understood from the foregoing description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings.

The corn fork or forks A are connected with the ear of corn, as shown in Fig. l, and the Shanks of the handles are placed in the loops or yokes d of the support, and by means of this arrangement the said ear of corn is supported without coming in contact with the table or the cloth thereon and said ear of corn may be manipulated without applying the hands thereto. This device is simple in construction and operation and comparatively inexpensive, and it is evident that changes in and modiiications of the construction herein described may be made without departing from the spirit of my invention or sacrificing the advantages thereof.

Having fully described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- As a new article of manufacture a table implement consisting of two end pieces each having two standards, a depending loop or cross-piece engaging the said standards at their upper ends, a foot secured to one of said standards and integral therewith, an upwardly, then horizontally directed projection secured to the other ofsaid standards and a hook formed on the end of said projection or horizontal portion and adapted to respectively engage one with the other, all of said parts being combined substantially as described.
