UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ROGER W. VOODBURY, OF DENVER, COLORADO.
WATER-BAG.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 586,650, dated July 20, 1897. Application filed January 7, 1897. Serial No. 618,364. (No model.)
T0 a/ZZ whom it may concern.'
Be it known that I, ROGER W. WooDBURY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Denver, in the county of Arapahoe and State of Colorado, have invented certain new and-use- -ful Improvements in Flexible Rubber Bags; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full,l clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilledin the art to which it Iappertains to make and use the same.
l My invention relates to rubber bags, and its4 object is to provide an improved form of this device which may be readily removed from` the stopper for cleansing.
My invention consistsof certain novel features of construction and combination of tail-longitudinal section throughvthe upper part thereof, and Fig. 3 is a top plan view showing my valve.
The bag l is provided with the reduced neck 2. The stopper 3 is provided with an annular recess therearound, said recess being slightly larger than the neck of the bottle. Within this'stopper is formed a valve-seat 4,'having the valve '5 therein, The countersunk button vor handle dis adapted to open or close this valve. It will be noticed from the peculiar construction that when' the valve is turned one-quarter around, or at an angle of ninety degrees, the valve will be changed from its position of fully opened or entirely closed to the opposite position.
Fig. 2 is a de-l In this device the rubber bag is held to the stopper by the contractile action of the neck thereof when slipped over the outside of said stopper and permitted to lie within the recess extendin g therearound. For this purpose the the exact form herein illustrated, as any one skilled in the art could readily make slight changes therefrom; but I desire to cover e11- tirely all forms of this device which do not materially dier from that herein shown and described.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to have secured by LettersPatent, ism
The combination of a waterbag having a ilexible body portion and a contracted neck, both formed of an elastic material, of astopper having an annular groove therearound held Within said neck by the contraction of the elastic material, a valve-seat formed within said stopper, a valve held within said va1veseat,and a countersunk button adapted to operate said valve.
In testimony whereof I have signed this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
RANDOLPH M. MULEonD, MALCOLM C. ANnEnsoN.
