A. O. EGGBRS. FOUNTAIN SYRINGE.
N0. 411,954. Patented Oct. 1. 1889.
N. PETERS. Phalo-Lithographw, Wnihklgiom D. C.
UNITED STATES PATENT EEicE.
ANTON C. EGGERS, OF NEIV YORK, ASSIGNOR TO THE IDEAL RUBBER COMPANY, OF BROOKLYN, NEW YORK.
FOUNTAIN-SYRINGE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 411,954, dated October 1, 1889. Application filed December 19, 1888. Serial No. 294,077. (No model.)
To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ANTON C. EGGER-s, of the city, county, and State of New York, a citizen of the United States, haveinvented certain new and useful Improvements in Combined WVater Bag and Fountain, of which the following is a specification.
The object of my invention is to provide a new and improved com bin ed rubber water hottle and fountain.
The invention consists in asoft-rubber bag provided with a filling-opening at its top and an outlet-tube at the bottom, said outlet-tube having a screw-collar, on which a cap-stopper can be screwed for closing it.
The invention also consists in the construction and combination of parts and details, as will be fully described hereinafter, and then pointed in the claim.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a face View of my improved combined water bottle and fountain, the cap-stopper being removed. Fig. 2 is a vertical transverse section of the capstopper and an elevation of part of the outlettube within the stopper.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
The bag or bottle A is made in the usual manner of soft rubber, and is provided at the top with the filling-funnel B and at the bottom with the hard-rubber outlet-tube G. Said tube 0 is provided at its lower end with the head D, the bottom of which is rounded and the top flat, forming the annular shoulder E. A short distance above the head D the tube 0 is provided with the screw-threaded collar F, having the flange G at its top.
The cap-stopper H, provided at its closed end with the handle J, is screw-threaded internally to adapt its open end to be screwed on the collar F. The bottom of the cavity of the stopper is rounded to fit snugly on the rounded bottom of the head D and to effect-nally close the opening in said head.
Vhen the bag is to be used as a \vater-bottle, it is filled, the top opening is closed by means of asuitable stopper, and the cap-stopper H is screwed on and over the outlet-tube. The open end of said stopper H rests snugly against the flange G, and thus prevents leakage in case the bottom of said stopper should not fit tightly.
When the bag is to be used as a fountain, one end of a soft-rubber tube is applied in the usual manner to the end of the outlet-tube 0.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent The combination, with a rubber bag provided with a top filling-opening and at the bottom with an outlet-tube having a head at its lower end, a neck of less diameter above said head and a screw-threaded shoulder at its upper end, of a screw-cap adapted to be screwed on the screw-threaded collar of the outlet-tube for the purpose of closing the same, substantially as set forth.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention I have signed my name in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
ANTON C. EGGERS.
