IMPROVEMENT IN BUTTONS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 58,310, dated September "5,1866, antealated September 17, 1866.
To all whom t may concern.- Be it known that I, ALBERT M. SMITH, of the city of Brooklyn, county of Kings, and State of New York, have invent-ed a new and useful Improvement in Button-Eyes for Fastening or Looping up the Bottoms of Ladies Dresses, and other purposes of a similar eharaeter; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full "and `exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawing, making a part'ofthis specification, of which- Figure 1 is a perspective descriptive view. My improvement consists in making or placing` a pin iu the Center of the eoil of a spiral.- formed blittoireye, to keep the eloth or whatever it is applied to from becoming unfastened on the under side by its slipping and working around and finally Voff from the coil; also, to afford a center for the spiral to turn upon and an additional hold and support to it. I do not claim making a button with a spiralformed eye, so as to hold together whatever it is applied to by screwing it into and thron gh the difterent pieces or parts to be so held; but
