SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 561,978, dated June 16, 1896.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, GEORGE EADIE, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Lock Haven, in the county of Clinton and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Toys, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof, in which similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.

This invention relates to toys; and the objcct thereof is to provide an improved device of this class which is simple in construction and operation, and which is particularly adapted to amuse children.

The invention is fully disclosed in the following specification, of which the accompanying drawings form a part, in which Figure 1 is a side view of my improved toy Fig. 2, a rear view thereof, and Fig. 3 a plan view.

In the practice of myinvention I provide a handle A, at one end of which is formed a yoke B, the separate sides of which are united at their ends bya cross bar or shaft C,which is shown in dotted lines in Fig. 3, and an end view of which is given in Fig. 1. I

The ends of the cross bar or shaft (J extend outwardly beyond the sides of the yoke 13, and secured to each is a vertical standard D, on the upper end of each of which is mounted a circular plate or disk E, each of which is provided with a plurality of circular rows or perforations, as shown at 1 two of said circular rows or perforations being preferably employed.

Mounted centrally on the-cross bar or shaft C is a circular disk or wheel G, which is larger than the disks or wheels E, and the perimeters of said wheels E are adapted to press upon the sides of the disks or wheels G, and when the device is operated by the handle A and the wheel G pushed forward upon the floor or ground the disks or wheels E will be revolved thereby, as will be readily understood. I also provide a number of figures II, which are designed to represent soldiers, or these figures may represent animals, birds, &c., and each figure is provided with a base,

to which is secured a pin which is adapted to be inserted into the perforations or apertures in the circular rows F, and when the disks or wheels E are revolved, as herein described, these figures will move around in a circle, as will be readily understood, and thus appear to be marching in procession.

This device is simple in construction and operation and compa ratively inexpensive and is well adapted to amuse children, and it is evident that changes in and modifications of the construction herein described may be made without departing from the spirit of my invention or sacrificing its advantages.

Having fully described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent 1. The herein-described toy which consists of a handle, a yoke formed on or secured to one end thereof a transverse shaft or bar by which the ends of the yoke are united, two horizontal disks or wheels, one of which is supported above each end of said transverse shaft or bar, and a central vertical disk or wheel mounted on said shaft between said horizontal disks or wheels and adapted to revolve the same, substantially as shown and described.

The herein-described toy, which consists of a handle, a yoke formed on, or secured to one end thereof a transverse shaft or bar by which the ends of the yoke are united, two horizontal disks or wheels, one of which is supported above each end of said transverse shaft or bar, and a central vertical disk or wheel mounted on said shaft between said horizontal disks or wheels, and adapted to revolve the same, said horizontal disks or -wheels being adapted to carry figures which represent men or animals, substantially as shown and described.
