Be it known that I, LOUIS E. NOBLE, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city of Boston, in the county of Suiolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Trousers-Stretchers, of which the following, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, is a specification, reference being made to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of the specication.

The invention relates to a device for forming into proper shape the legs of trousers, whereby the necessity of pressing may be obviated.

Figure 1 is a side and partially perspective view showing the device clamped in its proper form ready for insertion into the trousers-leg.

Fig. 2 shows the trousers with the stretcher v inserted and released from its contractinghooks and exercising its expansive force to give the desired form. Fig. 3 is a spring of the required form.

Referring to the drawings, ca is a piece of wood havingits outer side reduced to an edge to properly crease the cloth and having the outline from end to end,as desired, in the front of the trousers-leg. ce is a similar piece of wood having the same kind of edge as a, and having its outline' from end to end of the form required for the back of the trousers-leg.

In the manufacture of my trousers-stretcher I form the wooden pieces a and a as shown in Fig. l, and the springs b b as shown in Fig. 3,With the ends iiattened to prevent their turning in the holes, then separate the wood pieces suflicient to allow the straight ends of the springs to enter the holes in a straight line, thereby insuring the eect in outward pressure of three springs in one when pressed together and inserted into the trousers-leg.

Having thus described my invention., I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States A trousers stretcher comprising the frontv and back rigid bars and the reversibly arranged U shaped springshavingstraight and flattened ends, said ends being embedded in the bars as shown.
