The object of this invention is to construct 7 a toy and through the operation of spinning to impart motion to figures fastened to the top and to provide or secure other advantages and results, some of which will be referred to in connection with the description.

The invention consists in theimproved toy and in the arrangements and combination of parts, all substantially as will be hereinafter set forth, and finally embodied in the clauses of the claim. 1 r

Referring to the accompanying drawings, in which-like letters of referenceindicate correponding parts in each ofthe several figures, Figure 1 is a front elevation of my improved toy. Figs. 2 and 3 are side elevations,'respect- 3o ively,'of Fig. 1, showing in Fig. 3 that only one figure may be used. Fig. 4 is a section on line as of Fig. 1. Fig. 5 is a front elevation of a modified construction, showing a frame attached to the base and bent up and across and enters the top from the center and the figures suspended from the cross-piece. Fig. 6 is a top plan View of the same, showing the shape in which the figures will be when in use. Fig. 7 is a section on line y of Fig. 5, omitting the figures. Figs. 8 and 9 are modified constructions showingdifferent forms of suspending the figures and to construct and make the base more secure; and Fig. 10 is a detail view, enlarged, showing the body portion having the slot for the easy vertical movement of the leg attached to the pedals of the velocipede. As shown in Figs. 1, 2, and 3, the figures show, respectively, a boy in on a velocipede. Z and a boy m having the handle of a wheelbarrow n in his hand, and in Fig. 4 is shown only one figure, and that being the boy on the velocipede.

The top is put in operation as follows: The string is wound around the postf, and when fully wound the top is placed on a fixed board or place and is 'held down until the string is quickly removed, which will give the top a veryhigh rate of revolution and as the velocitop cover 0 of the revolving top motion will be imparted to the said wheels of the velocipede and wheelbarrow, as fully shown upon referring to the drawings. The different constructions are shown and described to show the different ways in which I can use my invention, and therefore I do not wish to be understood as limiting myself to the precise construction and arrangements of parts described and shown, as various modifications therein may be made without departing from the spirit of my invention.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is'

1. In a toy, the combination with the base,

.a revolving body, a central rod passing through said body, cross piece fastened to said central rod, figures fastened to said cross piece and resting on said revolving body, substantially as and for the purposes set forth.

2. In a toy, the combination with the base, a body revolving in a groove recess, a frame fastened to the base, said frame extending upward and across said revolving body, figures suspended and fastened to the cross piece, central rod extending down from'said cross piece and entering said revolving body, a winding post, all of said parts being arranged and combined substantially as set forth.

3. In a toy, the combination with the base a, centralrod b fastened to said base and passing through the body at and winding post f, cross piece 9 fastened to said rod b and figures fastened to the ends of the cross piece 9, substantially as and for the purposes set forth.

4. In a toy, the combination with the base a, frame to fastened to the base and extending upward and across a revolving body, rod 1) extending downward from said frame, and entering at the axis of said revolving body, winding post f fastened to said revolving body d of said toy, said body revolving in a groove recess in said base, figures suspended from said frame and resting lightly on the cover of said revolving body,substantially as shown and described.

5.
