The combination with a body, and an end gate or board, of the support fixed to the gate or board and having one end held in place by the pivot bolts, 9, g, the latch pivoted on'one of said bolts and having the slotted heel, and a lever pivoted on the other bolt and fitted to engage with the slotted heel of the latch, substantially as and for the purposes described.
3. A pivoted latch having a slotted heel on one side of its pivot, a support for the bolts, 9, g on one of which the latch is pivoted, and a lever fitted in the slotted heel of the latch and fulcrumed on the other bolt, substantially as and for the purposes described.
4. A pivoted latch having the slotted heel, combined with a lever fnlcrumed within the slotted heel of said latch and constructed to ride against the heel to turn the latch on its pivot and to lock or confine it in place, substantially as and for the purposes described.
5. The combination with a keeper, of a pivoted latch having a slotted heel, and a lever fulcrumed within said heel of the latch and having the lug or shoulder arranged to bear against the latch to lock it in place when the lever is at right angles to the longer axis of the latch, substantially as and for the purposes described.
6. The combination with a keeper, of the support having the spaced pivotal bolts, a latch pivoted on one of said bolts and provided with a hook or beak at one end and with the slotted heel at the opposite end, and a lever pivoted on the other bolt within the slotted heel of the latch and formed with the shoulder, h, which rides against the edges of said latch-heel, substantially as and for the purposes described. t
