POCKET-RECEPTACLE FOR CARDS.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, RUDOLF SENNER, asubject of the Grand Duke of Baden, residing at Pforzheim, in the Grand Duchy of Baden, Germany, have invented new and useful Improvenlents in Pocket-Receptacles for Cards, whereof the following is a specification.

The present invention relates to that class of card-cases with automatically acting cardejector, described in my United States Patent No.470,079, in which a card ejector pro: jects the cards out of the case one at a time in a convenient position for removal by hand.

The apparatus is so arranged that by the act of closing the lid, a spring pusher or ejector is pressed down, and engages by means of a small claw with the undermost card for example of a series contained in a receptacle made in two parts in .such a manner, that when the lid is released the action of the previously compressed springs connected With the ejector causes the ejector together with the card, to be pushed upward so that the card projects from the case. Now in my present invention the lid which was connected to the card ejector by a lever is omitted, and the card case is normally closed, being provided with a slot at the upper end, through which the card is projected. The card projector instead of being connected to the lid, is provided with a small bar or band, which projects through a small slot at the bottom of the case.

The arrangements of the case are otherwise similar to those described in my Letters Patent above referred to. On drawing down the rod or band connected to the ejector, the

springs or spring of thesame will be compressed and the claw engages under the front card, so that on letting go the said band or rod the ejector flies up under the influence of its springs or spring, taking the card with it and projecting the same out of the slot at the top of the same.

In order to make my invention more fully intelligible, reference is made to the, accompanying drawings, the same letters of reference indicating corresponding parts in all the figures.

Figure ,1 of the accompanying drawings illustrates an elevation of a pocket-card-case, provided with the ejector, the hinged side being removed. Fig. 2 represents the apparatus in vertical section illustrating the action of the hinged side as described in the above mentioned Letters Patent. Fig. 3 represents the apparatus in elevation with the band and consequently the ejector, drawn down in readiness to project a card through the slot. Fig. 4: shows the apparatus in plan and Fig. 5 represents the card-case with a modification in the arrangement of the springs whereby increased capacity is obtained.

To the ejector d, which is provided with a claw cl and moves in the centrally arranged longitudinal slot b is attached a narrow band or bar 3 projecting through a slot 2, provided in the bottom of the case. The ejector d is attached, by means of the arms (1 to the two springs h, which keep the same in its normal position, with the band 3 within the case as shown in Fig. 1.

On the band s being fully drawn out, the ejector is drawn down, compressing the springs h, while the claw d catches on the under edge of the next card of the series pressed against the receptacle by the blade-spring 0. The band .9 being nowreleased the ejector d flies up to its normal position under the influence of the springs h the claw d pushing up at the same time the card through the slot 2' provided for the purpose at the top of the case (Figs. 1 to 4:).

Fig. shows a modification of the above. The two side springs h being replaced bya flat compressible spring h arranged centrally at the back of and connected to the ejector d, and the bottom of the case. This spring serves the purpose of the two side springs, the action of the ejector being identically the same. This modification allows of an increased size of card being used in the case.

What is claimed, and desired to be secured by Letters Patent, is-
