SUPPORT FOR TABLE-SCREENS.
SPECIFICATION forming part ofrLetters Patent No. 505,201, dated September 19, 1893.

To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, CANDACE ALICE Hor- KINS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Sarcoxie, in the county of J asperand State of Missouri, have invented a new and useful Support for Table-Screens, of which the following is a specification.
The invention relates to improvements in supports for table screens.
The object of the present invention is to provide a support adapted for holding a screen, mosquito net or the like, for covering a table to protect the contents thereof from flies, and capable of being readily adjusted to adapt itself to the size of a table on which it is used.
The invention consists in the construction and novelv combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings, and pointed out in the claims hereto appended.
In the drawings-Figure l is an elevation of a screen support constructed in accordance with this invention, and shown in operative position. Fig. 2' is a perspective View ofthe same partially folded.

I designates an ornamental standard secured centrally to a circular base 2, and having pivoted to its upper end horizontal bars 8, which support other horizontally pivoted The horizontally pivoted bars 3 and 4 are arranged in series and may be of any desired number to suit the size of the table on which the device is to be used, and they are adapted to be folded when the device is not in use, as illustrated in Fig. 2 of the accompanying drawings.
To the outer end of each of the pivoted bars 4 is hinged a depending supporting bar 5, adapted to be folded up against its pivoted bar when not in use, and capable of supporting and sustaining the pivoted bars of the series to which it is attached when the device is in use. On tables of ordinary length it is desirable to use a support at each end thereof 5 but, on tables of great length the supports should be arranged at intervals. On small tables one support arranged at the center will hold a screen sufiiciently high to keep the same out of contact with the dishes or other contents of the table.
It will be seen that the support or holder is simple and comparatively inexpensive in construction, that its pivoted bars admit of its being adjusted as to length to suit the Width of a table, and that it may bc compactly folded when not in use. When the horizontally disposed pivoted bars are in alignment the holder or support is at its greatest length, and by arranging the pivoted bars at an angle to one another its length may be decreased as desired.
Changes in the form, proportion and the min nor details of construction may be resorted to Without departing from the principle or sacrificing any of the advantages of this invention. y
What I claim is- 1. A screen holder or support comprising a base, a standard rising therefrom, and horizontally disposed bars arranged in series and extending from opposite sides of the standard, to form when spread out a horizontal frame adjustable in size said bars being pivoted together and the inner ones being pivotally connected to the top of the standard, substantially as described.
2. A support or holder comprising a base, a standard rising therefrom, horizontal bars arranged in series and' pivotally connected together and extending from opposite sides of the standard, the inner bars being pivotally connected to the standard, and depending supporting bars hinged to the outer end of the outer pivoted bars, substantially as and for the purpose described.
