Description

A. K. TRIMPEY.
COMBINED SPOOL AND IMPLEMENT HOLDER.
APPLICATION FILED FEB. 25. I915.
Patented Dec. 21, 1915.
ALICE KENT TRIMPEY, F BARABOO, WISCONSIN.
COMBINED SIOOL AND IMPLEMENT HOLDER.
all whom it may concern I Be it known that'I, ALICE KENT TRIMPEY,
a citizen of the United States, residing'at the city of Baraboo, in the countyof Sauk and State of Wisconsin, have .invented a new and useful Combined Spool and Implement Holder to be Used as a Convenience and Labor-Saving Device by All Persons Engaged in Doing Needlework of Any De- 10 scription, of which the following is the specification. I
' My invention consists in the novel fea- I .-tu-res hereinafter described, reference being hadto the accompanying drawing, in wh ch. ,15
I haveshown one embodiment-of my invention, which has been selected by me for purposes of illustration, and the said inventionis fully disclosedin the following description and claims.
Referring to the drawing:.Figure 1 is a perspective view, of my improvedspool and i I implement holder, showing the same attached to a window casingand muse; Fig.
2 is a perspective view of the same showing the holder detached.
The object of my invention is to provide an improved spool and implement holder for use while sewing, and thesame is designed to be pivotally attached to SUPPOItS' which are placed in different parts of a room or building. v
A further object of my invention is to provide a device of this character which is simple, eflicient, and durable in construction, and inexpensive to manufacture.
In the drawing, A represents a suitable support, in this instance a window casing,
which is provided with a plurality of screw eyes B, which are adapted to carry my improved spool and implement holder hereinafter described.
In practice, it is desirable to place a number of these screw eyes at different points in a room orbuilding, so that the spool and implement holder may be used at different places.
My improved spool and implement holder comprises a bar C provided on its upper surface with a series of vertically rising posts D, which are preferably graduated in height from one end of the bar toward the other. These posts are adapted to act as the supports'for spools, one of which is shown at E in Fig. 1. The under side of Specification of Letters Patent.
' Patented Dec. 21, 1915.
' Application fiiearepmar 25,1915. Serial no. ioasoa,
the bar G is provided with a plurality of hooks F, which are adapted j to support scissors, pincushion,or other similar article.
Rigidly secured to one end ofthe bar 0 is a downwardly depending vertical post G which is adapted to be inserted inany'set of the screw eyes B before referred to, and
swing on the same. I 1 r When the device is in use, it is adapted to be swung at an angle to its support A, so that the thread maybe pulled from the spools, or the implements supported by the hooks F may be easily reached, and whenthe device is not-in use, it is adapted to be swung parallel with its support A,,so that it will not interfere with a person passing the same- It will be apparent to those persons familiar with-i devicesfof this character that I have provided a simple and inexpensive structure which may be readily attached and detached, it being understood that changes in the combination and details of the invention may be made within the scope of the appended claims without departing from the spirit of the invenion or sacrificing any of its advantages. 1
Having fully described my invention,
what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. In combination with a support provided with a plurality of supporting rings, a vertical post detachably swiveled in said supporting rings, a bar rigidly connected at one end to said post, a series of vertically rising posts providedon the upper surface of said bar adapted to support a series of spools, and a series of hooks provided on the under surface of said bar adapted to support desired implements.
2. In combination with a support having a plurality of supporting rings, a vertical post detachably swiveled in said rings, a bar connected at one end to said post, a series of vertically rising posts provided on the upper surface of said bar adapted to support the spools, said bars being graduated in height from one end of the bar toward the other, and a series of hooks provided on the under surface of said bar adapted "to support desired implements.
ALICE KENT TRIMPEY. Witnesses:
' NELLIE RoBINsoN,
