CIGAR-HOLDER.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 500,791, dated July 4,1893.

Be it known that I, J OHANNES ANDERSSEN,

a subject of the King of Sweden and Norway,

and a resident of Maridalsveien 72, Christiania, Norway, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Cigar-Holders, (patented in Sweden May 19, 1892, No. 3,723; in Germany August 15, 1892, No. 63,615, and in Austria-Hungary May 10, 1892, No. 82,216 and No. 13,613,) of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to an improved mouth-piece or holder for cigars, by means of which the end of a cigar need not be cut off when required for smoking and it can be smoked quite out without any part being wasted whereby great economy is effected. By a special arrangement the nicotine is prevented from entering the mouth and the mouth-piece or holder will never become foul. The cigar may be placed in any position whatever upon the mouth-piece, either at right angles, obliquely or with the lighted end toward the smoker. From this it will be seen that the improved mouth-piece possesses great advantages.

In order to enable the invention to be fully understood I will describe the same by reference to the accompanying drawings in which t Figure 1, is a sectional view through the holder; Fig. 2, a detail sectional view of the plug. What I claim is 1. In a cigar holder the combination of the""6'o tube 6, having a hollow perforated spike d, thereon, and the receptacle 0 havinga socket to receive the cigar and the plug for closing said socket, substantially as described.

2. In a cigar holder, the combination of the tube b, the hollow perforated spike d thereon, the receptacle 0 having a socket for receiving the end of the cigar, and the hollow plug adapted to fit into said socket or over the spike, substantially as described.
