LATH lNG-HARNESS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 497,363, dated. May 16, 1893. Application filed December 21, 1892- Serial No. 455,916. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Beitknown that 1, JAMES A. WARD,a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Greenwood, in the county of Johnson and State of Indiana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Lathing-Harness, of which-the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawings.
My invention relates to lathing harness;
and consists in forming a girdle of two rigid members hinged together at one end and united to the other by straps or flexible connections, and suspending from the flexible part, a pocket or pouch for nails, and attaching to the rigid part, a suitable holder, or lath support.
. In the accompanying drawings: Figure]. is a perspective view of my improvement; and Fig. 2 is an illustration showing the manner of wearing the harness when in use.
Referring to the severalparts by letters of reference, A, A, indicate two members or parts made of wood or other light material, and united at A by a suitable hinge, the op posite ends being shod with metal and inclosing links B to which straps 0 are connected, said straps being provided with a buckle D.
E indicates a nail pouch secured to the straps in any suitable manner.
F indicates a bent wire or rod attached to one of the members A by means of brackets or supports G, G, the support G being provided with a binding screw F for holding the rod when properly adjusted.
The device when in use isworn as a belt, the nail pouch being located in front, or at the side as may be most convenient to the wearer, the laths being supported from the floor or scaffold and held in position by passing through the openingH between the memberA and the rod F.
This device forms a simple and useful equipment for a mechanic doing lath work, especially such as ceilings and the like.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is- A lathers girdle or harness consisting of the rigid members A, A, hinged at A, and provided with suitable straps for securing it to the body of the wearer and having an adj ustable lath holder secured to one of its rigid members, in the manner and for the purpose set forth.
