9 G. W. BEAN.
PERFUMERY OR OTHER BOTTLE. No.- 493,962. Patented Mar. 21, 1893.
AONE.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
GEORGE WV. BEAN, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
PERFUMERY OR OTHER BOTTLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 493,962, dated March 21, 1893. Application filed May 16, 1892. Serial No- 433.137. (No model.)
To aZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, GEORGE i/V. BEAN, acitizen of the United States, residing in the city and county of Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania, have invented anew and useful Improvement in Perfumery and other Bottles,
which improvement is fully set forth in the v following specification and accompanying drawing.
My invention consists of a bottle having its mouth at the lower end, a frame embracing the body of the bottle, and a base secured to said frame, as will be hereinafterset forth and claimed.
The figure represents a side elevation of a bottle embodying my invention.
Referring to the drawing:A designates a bottle which is of inverted form, whereby the mouth B is below.
0 designates aframe which consists of horizontal and vertical or crossing pieces of wire or other flexible material, forming somewhat of a netting which embraces the body of the bottle, said body being of globular form.
The vertical pieces D of the frame 0, are connected at their lower ends with a base E, whereby the bottle may be stood in upright position on said base, while the mouth of the bottle is below.
As the frame 0, is somewhat flexible, and the body of the bottle is freely fitted therein, the bottle may be turned sufficiently to permit its mouth to be accessible between the vertical pieces D of the frame or outside of the same, for pouring out and filling purposes. In order to connect the parts of the frame, the horizontal piece E of the same has hooks -F on the ends thereof, the same engaging, and thus closing said piece in ring form around the body of the bottle. At the upper end of the frame is a hook or eye G, whereby the device may be suspended by a cord, &c., when so desired.
The frame with its hook may be formed of twisted wire, which is sufiiciently strong and provides rigidity, whereby the bottle may be sustained in upright position on the base.
As a convenient manner of attaching the frame with the base, the bottom of the pieces D are connected by a wire H, which encircles the base and fitted on hooks J on said base.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. A bottle with its mouth at the lower end, a flexible frame or netting embracing the body of the bottle and having the vertical pieces D at its lower end, the horizontal piece H with hooks thereon, and the eye Gatits upper-end, and the base E connected with said vertical pieces D, said parts being combined substantially as described. r
2. A bottle with its mouth at its lower end, a flexible netting embracing the body of the bottle and having the depending pieces D, a base with hooks thereon, and a wire encircling said base and fitted on said hooks, said wire and said pieces D being connected, said parts being combined substantially as described.
GEORGE W. BEAN.
