BOTTLE-HOLDER.

Be it known that citizen of the United States, residing at Johnstown, in the county of Cambria and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new Holders, of which the following is a specifi cat-ion, reference being had to the accompanying drawings.

This invention relates to bottles and more particularly to holders for nursing bottles.

The object of my invention is to provide a holder that can be attached to regularly or irregularly shaped nursing bottle.

Another object is to have in such a holder a simple arrangement whereby the holder can be adjusted to tilt at various angles.

A further object is to have a holder which possesses the above characteristics and at the same time be both light and durable and capable of being easily and cheaply manufactured.

In the drawings which illustrate one form of my invention Figure 1 is a perspective view of a bottle-holder embodying my invention; and Fig. 2 is a side view of my holder showing an angle-adjuster in action.

Similar reference characters refer to similar parts throughout the drawings.

Referring to the drawings, 1 is a mainstem of a bottle holder constructed of wire or the like which is suitably bent and shaped to secure an elastic band 2 near the top and another elastic band 3 near the bottom portions thereof, and also a safety pin 41 or a catch, and a hinged tilting piece 5.

A dotted outline 6 indicates a bottle supported by the holder.

It is preferable that the safety pin 4. be attached close to the top of the stem 1, and that the piece 5 be at the bottom of the same.

The hinged piece 5 is preferably constructed out of a single piece of wire, and bent to form a pair of V-shaped members 7 and 8, which are hinged at their narrow ends 9 and 10, to a loop 11 formed in the stem 1 and arranged to hold the lower flexible band 3. The V-shaped members are made of different depths as clearly indicated in the drawings and serve to tilt the holder at different angles when the piece 5 is respectively swung into positions A, B and C of Fig. 2.

The bottle holder is then secured to the dress of the child by means of the safety pin 1 and in the position A. Should it be desirable for any reason to tilt the bottle, as for instance when the child is lying down and the liquid is below the neck of the bottle head, the piece 5 is swung on its hinges to the position B or C which of course assists in causing the liquid in the bottle to fully empty out. The extending arms of the pieces .7 and 8 assist in keeping the bottle stable.

Obviously while I have described my invention with elastic bands, I anticipate the use of springs and many other means to accomplish the same results, neither do I wish to limit myself to the exact location of the parts or in any way but that necessitated by the prior art, as many details of construction may be varied without departing from the principles of my invention.

Having thus described the invention what is claimed is:

l. A bottle holder comprising in combination, a stem formed from a single piece of wire and having its upper and lower portions twisted into loops, continuous bands of elastic material disposed within said loops, said bands being adapted to take bottles of various sizes and shapes, a safety pin or the like disposed in said upper twisted portion and a V-shaped piece disposed in the lower twisted portion having legs of various lengths so adapted that the bottle may be tipped at various angles.

2. A bottle holder comprising in combination, a stem formed from a single piece of wire and having its upper portion bent end portion twisted horizontally thereto and having its lower portion bent into a loop and back on the stem, elastic bands disposed in said loops and arranged to take bottles of various sizes and shapes, a catch for fastening said stem in place and disposed within said upper twisted end, a V-shaped piece secured to said lower loop and having legs of various lengths so adapted that the bottle may be tipped at various angles.

A' bottle holder comprising in combination, a stem formed from a single piece of wire having its upper portion twisted into a loop and the end portion twisted horizontally into a spiral form and its lower portion twisted into a rectangular loop bent back on the stem, an elastic band in said upper loop an elastic band in said lower loop and held therein by the stem, said bands being adapted to take bottles of various sizes and shapes, a V-shaped piece formed from a single piece of wire and twisted so as to be hinged in said lower loop and having legs of various lengths so adapted as to tilt the bottle in two angles, and a safety pin or the like disposed in said twisted upper end and arranged to be movable therein.

A bottle holder comprising in combination, a stem formed from a single piece of wire having its upper portion twisted to form a loop and the end continued downward and twisted into a horizontal spiral and having its lower portion formed into a quasi-rectangular loop and bent back upon the stem, a continuous band of elastic material disposed in said upper loop and securely held therein, a continuous elastic band disposed in said lower loop and held therein by said stein, said bands being adapted to take bottles of various sizes and shapes, a safety pin or the like inovably disposed in said spiral and a V-shaped piece of wire hinged to said lower loop and having portions extending outwardly to form a relatively large base on which the bottle can rest when tilted, said V-shaped piece having a pair of legs of various lengths so adapted as to tilt the holder at two angles.
