Description
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOSEPH R. PALMENBERG, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.

To'ail whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOSEPH R. PALMEN- BERG, of New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented anew and Improved Revolving Cloak-Stand; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description ofthe same, reference bein g had to the accompanying drawing, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
The nature of this invention consists in the construction ot' a stand for ladies cloaks or similar dress articles applicable tor a store or show-room, which shall be strong and substanti-al and at the same time light and agreeable in appearance.
ln the accompanying drawing, which represents a front view or elevation ot' my improved revolving stand, A is a foot made of cast-iron and supported on suitable rollers, a. The upper part of this stand is bored out to receive an upright rod, B, which may be fixed and placed at any desired height by means of the set-screw C. Near the upper end of this upright rod G a collar, D, is made on which ,the lower socket, a', of the revolving frame F rests.
The revolving frame F consists of an upper socket, u, and a lower socket, x, bored out and tttiug loosely on the upright stand or rod B. From the upper socket, w, three or four arms, i1, attached to the same pass to a circular ring,
m, to which they are secured, and three or four braces or arms, p, connect this circular ring m with the lower socket, x. The ring mis made of iron or brass tubing, and the arms o and braces p are made ot light Wire, and form by their construction a strong frame, which, together with the sockets w and x, revolve easily around the upper part of the stand or rod B. To the ring m hooks may be attached to receive the cloaks or similar dress articles, or hooks may be attached to the articles themselves and hooked over the ring m. To prevent this revolving franie F coming ott, and at thesame tinieto make anice finish to the stand, a cap, E, is screwed above the upper socket, fw, upon the end ofthe rod or upright stand B.
I do not claim, broadly, fixing a revolving frame upon an upright. stand but What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The construction and 'arrangement ot' a revolving frame, F, on an upright stand or rod,
' B, in the manner and for the purposesubstantially as described and set forth.
