UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
WLADYSLAUS JESCHKE, OF BROOKLYN, NEV YORK.
PAPER OR MUSIC FILE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 486,875, dated November. 29, 1892. Application tiled April 8, 1892. Serial No. 428,307. (No model.)
To all whom t may concern:
Be it known that I, WLADYsLAUs JEscHKE, of Brooklyn, Kings county, New York, have invented an Improved Paper or Music File, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a le for papers, music, and similar matter, which is constructed with a view of permitting the ready attachment of the papers and the subsequent rolling up of the iilled file.
The invention consists in the various features of improvement more fully pointed out in the claims.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a perspective View of my improved Atile, showing it rolled up; Fig. 2, a face view, partly in section, of the tile, showingk it open; Fig. 3, a longitudinal section on line x x, Fig. 2; and Fig. 4 a section on line y y, Fig. l.
The letters a a represent the two Hexible covers of the iile, connected by a back a', as usual. Upon the inner side of each cover there is formed by an inner lining a2 an inner pocket a3, that opens toward the back c. Into the pockets asthere enterlaterally-extending flaps b of an additional inner detachable back b.
To this back b the papers, music, &c., d are attached by means of suitable fastening devices, and then the back is secured to the covers a by slipping the flaps b into the pock- One of the covers ce is provided With ets a3.
an outside pocket a4, and when the le has "been properly filled it is bent and its edge is slipped into the pocket of* to form a continuous roll, Fig. l. The handle c ofthe le is made A- shaped, with the two shanks attached to one cover and the apex provided with the locking-plate that is adapted to be attached to the other cover. The cross-bar c of the A thus comes to lay on top ofthe rolled-up file and constitutes the handle-strap.
What I claim isl. A tile composed of an outer cover having pockets and of an inner removable back hav- -ing laterally-extendin g flaps that are adapted to be received by such pockets, substantially as specified.
2. A tile composed of an outer flexible cover having two inner" pockets 0,3 and an Outer pocket a4 and ot' a removable back b, having flaps b', adapted to be received by pockets a3, substantiallyy as specified.
3. A file composed ofan outer flexible cover having two inner pockets a3 and an outerv pocket a4, of an inner removable back b, having flaps b', and of an A- shaped handle c, substantially as specied.
