UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
FREDERICK I-IABERMAN, OF NEIV YORK, N. Y.
SHEET-METAL VESSEL.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 463,041, dated November 10, 1891. Application filed April 12 1888. Serial No. 270,452. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, FREDERICK HABERMAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Sheet-Metal Vessels, of which the.
Fig. 2 is a section along the line m 00, Fig. 1.
Fig. 3 is a detail front view of a vessel without a spout. Fig. 4' is a section along the line y y, Fig. Fig. 5 is a rear elevation of a spout. Fig. 6 is a section along the line .2 .2', Fig. 5. Fig. 7 is a side elevation of a spoutsection.v
Similarletters indicate corresponding parts.
The letter A indicates a body of a vessel having handles B C. To said vessel, and communicating with an opening thereof, is secured a spout F by means of grooves D, Fig. 4, and tongues E, Fig. 6. Said spout F is shown as having a brace G, made integral or of one piece with the spout. The spout F is composed of two spout-sectionsjoined by the seam or closure J The brace-sections G each one of which is made integral with a spoutsection are joined together along. the edge H. Said closure along the edge II is readily made by bringing the brace-sections along the edge H from the position shown in Fig. 7 to the position shown in Figs. 2 and 5.
\Vhen the walls of the grooves D are firmly pressed onto the tongues E and the closure or seams H J are firmly compressed, water-tight joints are secured, which can be made further secure against leakage by plating, galvanizing, or painting the article.
In the drawings is shown a sprinkler 1, secured to the spout, so that the article will be serviceable as a watering-pot; but the spout F can be attached to other articles, as, for example, to tea-pots, coffee-cans, and the like.
hat I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-- l. The combination, with the body A, of a spout F made in two sections, each section being provided with a' brace-section joined to the body by means of a tongue-and-groove connection, substantially as described. 2. The combination, with the body A, of a spout F made in two sections, each spout-see tion being provided with a brace section made integral with said spout section, and said brace-sections being joined to the body by means of a tongue-and-groove connection, substantially as described.
3. The combination, with the body A, of a spout F, made in two sections, each spoutsection being provided with a brace-section joined to the body by means of a tongue-andgroove connection, and said brace-sections being connected to one another, substantially as described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
