BENONA S. GLEASON, OF KALAMAZOO, MICHIGAN.
IMPROVEMENT IN FORMING AND DOUBLE-SEAMING STOVE-BOILERS.
State of Michigan, have invented a new and useful Improvement on a Machine for Forming and Double-Scanning Stove-Boilers; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full,
clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, in whichf Figure l is a View ofthe machine in sections, a b c. Fig. 2 is a view of the machine altogether. Fig. 3 is a side view with the semicircnlar section a in Fig. I elevated; d d d, the buttons, e the screw, fthe key, g the opening, and h the hinge.
The nature of my invention consists in a hinge, 7L, connecting the semicircular section a with section b, which admits it being elevated, so that it can be dropped easily and quickly to the bottom of the boiler, and by pressing it down to its proper place quickly and easily forms the boiler ready for double-seam ing. I then use the screw e to spread sections b c, so as to admit the keyfin the 0pening g. I then turn the buttons d d d over them, to keep them in their places. I also turn the buttons ci ci d over the hinge h While using. There are tWo keys and two openings in Fig. 3, but only one represented in the drawings.
Having described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The hinging the semicircular section a to the sides of the central section, b, in combination with the screw e and movable section c and key f, as and for the purposes set forth.
