IMPROVED SCREW-WRENCH.
Specification forming part of Leiters Patent No. 49,128, dated August 1, 1865.
To all whom 'it may concern:
Beit known that I, HORAGENV. LOVE, of the city of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings, in the State ofNeW York, have invented a new and useful Improvem'ent on a Screw-Wrench; and l do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the coni -struction and Operation ot' the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, in whieh- Figure l is a simple View of the wrench in working Order. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section of the screw operating' the same, with contiguous parts. Figs. 3 and 4 are plane views ot' the faces respectively of the two jaws of the wrench, with sections thereof continuons to the respective faces of said jaws and vertical to the screw and joints.
The nature of my invention consists in a dovetailed groove in which the shank of the slidingjaw is made to move and in which the adjnsting-screw'is placed, in consequence of which the screw is relieved of all lateral strain when operating the wrench.
What I claim for my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-m A single diagonal adjustable screw-wrench, constructed and capable of operating substantially as described. r
