SECTIONAL KITCHEN-SAFE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent N 0. 419,920, dated January 21 1890. Application filed May 7, 1889. Serial No. 309,859. (No model.)
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, JAMES A. CAMPBELL, of the city of St. Louis, in the State of Missouri, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Sectional Kitchen -Safes, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part of this specification. v
This safe belongs to the class in which the sides are made in separate pieces from the front and back, and in which these parts are put together by vertical movement of one upon the other. In this case the matching ribs and grooves are made in the Wood of which the sides and front and back Walls are made, and are so formed as to form a solid and complete connection of the parts without the addition of the shelves.
The drawing is a perspective view of the safe-frame, the top, the shelves, doors, and drawer being absent.
The front or front Wall 1 may have any preferred construction as to its arrangement for doors and drawers.

The corner-posts4 are upon the front and back, and approach an L shape in horizontal At 3 are the section, having a part 5, which forms the edge of the front or back 1 or 2, and a part 6, extending rectangularly thereto. In the inner side of the part 6 is a groove 7, in which fits a rib or tongueS upon the side 3. In the part 5 is a groove 9, in which fits a rib or tongue 10 of the side 3. It will be seen that the ribs and grooves 8 and 7 Will prevent the front or rear walls falling outward, while the ribs and grooves 10 and 9 will prevent the sides from falling inward, so that the frame formsasolid structure without the addition of the top or shelves.
I claim as my invention A sectional kitchen-safe in which one of the meeting members at each corner is provided with a pair of ribs, each at an angle to the other, one of which is rounded, and corresponding grooves in the otherinember at each corner to receive said ribs, extending from the top to the lower portion of the safe, so that when one member is brought alongside the other member and turned into engagement therewith each rib of the pair holds the other in its groove, substantially as set forth.
