UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE...
FREDERICK IV. IVEBER, ()F BOALSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA.
BAG-HOLDER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 415,803, dated November 26, 1889.
Application filed September 11, 1889. Serial No. 323,643. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Beit known that I, FREDERICK W. WEBER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Boalsburg, in the county of Centre and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bag-Holders and I do herebydeclare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention .relatesto improvements in devices for holding bags'while being filled; and it consists in the novel construction and arrangement and combination of parts, all as will be hereinafter fully described, and pointed out in the claim.
The annexed drawings, to which reference is made, fully illustrate my invention, in which Figure 1 represents a vertical sectional View of my device. Fig. 2 is an end view, Fig. 3 is a plan view, and Fig. 4 is a detail View.
Referring by letter to the accompanying drawings, A designates the bag-holder, consisting of the supports or legs a a a a, which are connected together by rods Z), and forming a portable frame. These rods support and brace the legs in a firm manner, and the latter incline toward one another, whereby the feet or lower ends are wider apart than the top. At the upper end of each bar or leg a and within the frameI pivota hook B, the horizontal or hook portion 0 of which supports the bag 61 at the mouth, as shown. The downwardly-extended portion e is bent at right angles, forming a curved arm f. A spring g bears against the portion 9 and a rod h bears .of the hook, which supports said hooks in a horizontal position, after which the'mouth of the bag is hooked thereon, thus spreading the mouth open to receive the grain, &o., and when the bag is full the operator forces the rods h from engagement with the curved arms. At the same time the spring throws the hook outwardly and from engagement with the bag, when the frame, being light, can be lifted up and taken away from the bag.
A device constructed as herein described is simple in operation, durable, and light to handle, as well as being cheap to manufacture.
Vhat I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
In a bag-holder, the combination, with the uprights secured to one another by the horizontal rods, as shown, of the holding-hooks having the hooked end to engage the bag and lower curved end and pivoted on the rods of the frame, the spring secured to the uprights and adapted to engage the pivoted hook, and the holding-bar engaging the curved lower end of the pivoted hook and hinged to the uprights, all as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
FREDERICK IV. WEBER.
