T0 (0% whom it may concern-.-
Be it known that I, JOSEPH WOLFINGER, of Dundas, in the county of Calumet, and in the State of \Visconsin, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Shoes; and I do hereby declare that the following is afull, clear, and exact description thereof.
llIyinvention relatesto shoes, and will be fully described hereinafter.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a side View of a shoe made according to my invention. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section of the same.
A is the shoe, composed of pulp as hereinafter set forth, and B is a facing for the sole and heel, this facing being made from wood,
leather, rubber, metal, or other suitable material having a greater resistance to wear than said pulp.
My shoe is to be made of wood pulp or paperpulp, or papier-mach,saturated with linseedoil or any other oil which the material will absorb. These shoes are formed in molds to have their parts in one piece, and may be given any desired shape. The thickness of the soles and wood pulp, and consisting of separate parts made from said material united to form a footcovering; but such I do not claim.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
As an improved article of manufacture, a paper or wood pulp shoe having its several parts molded in one piece and its sole and heel faced with leather, rubber, or analogous material having a greater resistance to wear than said pulp.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand, at Dundas, in the county of Calumet and State of \Visconsin, in the presence of two witnesses.
