SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 387,603, dated August 7, 1888.

Application filed February 13, 1888. Serial No. 263,855. (No model.)

To aZZ whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, WILLIAM M. SKELTON, a citizen of the United States, an i a resident of Greencastle, in the county of Putnam and State of Indiana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Sham Pillows; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings. and to letters or figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.

Figure 1 of the drawings is a representation of this invention and is a top view. Fig. 2 is a vertical section. Fig. 3 is a top View.

The invention relates to improvements in pillows designed more particularly as a dress or sham pillow for beds; and it consists in the construction and novel combination of parts as hereinafter set forth.

Referring to the drawings, A designates light wooden parallel slats, and B represents similar parallel slats at right angles to the slats A. Pivot-pins a pass through the slats A and B at their several points of junction.

The two sides of the device are similarly constructed, and are connected by the outwardly-curved spring-plates O.

The springs G at their ends overlap two bars on each side, as shown, and the pivotsaserve to hold the springs in place. Corner outwardly-curved springs D are pivoted to the corners of the oppositesides, and are des gned to fill out the corners of the casing that may be drawn over the frame.

The pivotal connections of the parts allow the frame to be turned in a diamond form, as shown in Fig. 3 of the drawings.

It will be observed that the springs O are at all times parallel on the respective edges.

Having described my invention, what I claim is 1. In a sham pillow, the combination of the rectangular frames placed one above the other and composed of the slats A B, pivotally connected to each other and connected by the out-- wardly-curved pivoted springs G, and the corher-springs, substantially as specified.

2. In a sham pillow, the combination of the rectangular frames composed of slats pivotally connected together and at right angles to each other, and the outwardly-curved springs joining said frames together, substantially as specified.
