CARD-TABLE ATTACHMENT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 378,242,6ated February 2]., 1888.

T0 all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that we, LoUIs DEUDE and AED- MOND ST. ARNAULD, of Meriden, in the count'y of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Card-Table Attachments, of which the following is a description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, wherein" Figure lis a top view-of the device embodying our said improvement. Fig. 2 is a View in central vertical sections on the plane or.
The letter a denotes a metallic plate, and b a springclamp for attaching the plate to the table, the table being grasped between the plate and the clamp.
The letter c denotes a cup containing the cigar-rest d and vertical match-boxes c.
The letterf denotes asliding slate,the edges of the plate a being turned over to form ways for this purpose. The object of making the slate a sliding slate is that when the device is in use the slate may be pulled out, so as to form the cap or cover for the cup c.
The letter g denotes a bead counter as a whole. Points of the game may be kept on the bead counter and games or other memoranda may be kept on the slate.
The letter 7L denotes the case,(such as a cardcase for a pack of cards) provided on the bottom with a socket, t', fitting upon the springclamp b. When the device is not in use, the pack of cards can be kept in this card-case.
When it is desired to use the device, the cardcase 7t,which is held under the plate a by the force ofthe spring b, is removed by drawing it longitudinally, so that the spring b will slip from the socket ,that is on the bottom of the card-case, and the device slipped on the edge of a table, the plate a resting on the top, while the spring b grasps the under side of the table and firmly holds the device in position.
XVe claim as our improvement- 1. In combination with the plate d, the cup c and sliding slate f, all substantially as described, and for the purpose set forth.
2. In combination with the plate a and cup c, the spring b and the case It, provided with a socket, t', all substantially as described, and for the purpose set forth.
