  • ABSTRACT [30] Foreign Application Priorit D t A closing sleeve, in particular for dyeing spindles, Apr. 10 1971 Germany P 21 17 526.8 which comprises a dyeing Spindle having a plurality of threads.
  • a resiliently supported pressure plate is pro 521 US. (:1. 68/198 242/1301 vided and addhhmal threads engage the threads [51] Int. Cl i365l1 49/20 spindie'
  • the additional threads include a first Spring [58] Field 61 Search 68/189 198 212- biased threadiaw which engages resiliently the Spindle 242/129] and a second spring-biased thread jaw is disposed opposite the first thread jaw in thread engaging position.
  • SHiEI 1 (IF 3 CLOSING DEVICE IN PARTICULAR FOR DYEING SPINDLES
  • the present invention relates to a closing sleeve, in
  • An advantageous formation resides, in accordance with the present invention, in an arrangement according to which the two thread jaws extend into the gap between two connected bushings interspersed by the spindle, and arranged coaxially relative to each other, relative to which bushings the closing housing containing the bearing axes of the thread jaws is displaceable by operation of the release handle.
  • the upper bushing carries a swinging axis of the release handle supporting itself on the cover of the housing, which handle is formed as a swinging lever operating like a toggle.
  • the lower bushing has at its upper end edge a collar engaging the bottom side of the jaws.
  • an advantageous structure resides in an arrangement that the two bushings are connected by two diametrically oppositely arranged stays.
  • the upper bushing carrier carries at its upper ouside disposed edge a plate, which engages in jaw engagement position the upper edge of the swinging lever.
  • Both thread jaws enter thereby, biased by only a single spring, in forced engagement with the thread of the dyeing spindle and are controlled always synchronously by operation of the release handle into the free position. It results, furthermore, by this formation the advantage of a simple construction of the closing sleeve concerning its manufacture.
  • As transmission element between the release handle and the thread jaws merely two bushings are provided, connected to each other and disposed coaxially relative to each other, as well as dispersed by the spindle. In the gap between the bushings, extend the jaws for obtaining a forced engagement, so that in a release operation of the handle reliably a joinder of the jaws by means ofa swinging handle takes place. The release can be performed with little exertion of force.
  • a displacement of the closing housing with following displacement of the bushings takes place, whereby always only one pressure spring is to be compressed, namely the one disposed between the closing housing and the pressure plate and the pressure spring biasing the jaws.
  • the pressure spring surrounds for the purpose of a space saving arrangement and disurbance-free function the upper bushing and supports itself preferably at the jaws overthe guide ring body.
  • FIG. I is a front elevation of a closing sleeve mounted on a dyeing spindle;
  • FIG. 2 is a side elevation of the showing in FIG. 1;
  • FIG. 3 is a longitudinal section of the closing sleeve along the lines III-III of FIG. 2;
  • FIG. 4 is the same section as in FIG. 3, however, the thread jaws being shown out of engagement.
  • the closing sleeve 1 has a pressure plate 3 supported by a helical spring 2.
  • the closing sleeve 1 surrounds a dyeing spindle 4 and forms an opening 5, which is widened at the upper end to a housing 6 of the shape of a hub and extending in crosswise direction, whereby the cover 7 of the housing 6 has an opening 8' which is flush with the opening 5.
  • the dyeing spindle 4 carries at its free end a screw thread 9 and a pin-shaped insertion section 10. During mounting of the closure sleeve 1, two oppositely disposed thread jaws Ill and 12 move against the thread 9.
  • the mounting of the thread jaws II and I2 takes place about below the cross axes I4 and I4 of the housing 6 disposed below the threads II and 12.
  • the jaws 11 and 12 are of U- shape and rigidly connected with.
  • the U-stays of the jaws 11 and 12 surround a favorable thread section of the spindle 4.
  • These thread jaws 11 and 12 extend into the slit 54 between two bushings 55 and 56, which are connected together, disposed coaxially relative to each other and passed through by the spindle 4.
  • the lower bushing 56 guides itself in the sleeve 1 and has at its upper end edge a collar 56 moving towards the bottom side 11" and 12" of the jaws 11 and 12.
  • the jaws 11 and 12 are biased by a pressure spring 58.
  • the latter surrounds the upper bushing 55 and supports itself, on the one hand, on the housing cover 7 and, on the other hand, on the jaws 11 and 12 as intermediate arrangement of a guide ring body 58' which is angular in cross-section.
  • the upper bushing 55 passes through the opening 8 of the housing cover 7'.
  • On the upper outside disposed edge carries the upper bushing 55 a plate 59 from which extends two upwardly directed arms 59' and 59".
  • a swinging axle 60 each for the release handle 61 supporting itself on the cover 7' of the housing 7 with its upwardly directed arms 61 and 61", which release handle 61 is designed as 'a toggle-like swinging lever.
  • the release handle 61 continues into the slightly upwardly bent operation end 6111!.
  • the plate 59 engages the upper edge 61"" of the swinging lever 61 which is freely cut on the upper side for a part passage of the plate.
  • the arms 61 and 61" of the release lever 61 form curves S.
  • the jaws 11 and 12 are swung into the open position against the biasing of the pressure spring 58 and retained by the latter thereafter in engaging position.
  • the handle 61 is swung in the direction of the arrow X.
  • a displacement of the housing 6 takes place at first by means of the curves S of the release handle 61 against the helical spring 2 and thereafter a longitudinal displacement of the bushings 55 and 56 against the force of the pressure spring 58.
  • the jaws l1 and 12 are then swung by means of the annular collar 56 of the lower bushing 56 completely into the open position, shown in FIG. 4, so that the closing sleeve can easily be removed from the dyeing spindle 4.
  • a closing sleeve in particular for dyeing spindles, comprising a dyeing spindle, having a plurality of threads,
