- An about annular channel is provided for the tying means in such known machines, which tying means slide feeding rollers through the channel.
- the channel is kept closed by closing elements during the feeding of the tying means, which closing elements are forcibly controlled or enter resiliently into the open position during the pull back of the over length of the tying means.
- the tying means for such machines must be stable, so that it is slidable free of disturbances through the annular channel. For this reason these machines do not permit the insert of very flexible tying means, as thinner wire, steel bands, fiber bands, bands of synthetic material or the like.
- An advantageous embodiment consists thereby, in accordance with the present invention, of an arrangement, in which two pressure rollersare provided within the range of the feeding location for the tying means, which pressure rollers engage the marginal edges of the feeding belt and bending the feeding belt into a roof shape about its longitudinal axis, whereby the apex of the roof extends within the range of the groove.
- the pressure rollers comprise oppositely disposed taper rollers which point towards each other.
- a deflection roller forcing the groove side of the feeding belt into a convex curvature is disposed adjacent the pressure rollers.
- the locations having wider cross-sections are disposed in both sides and at about the level of the closing device.
- the deflection rollers determining the prescribed path of the feeding belt consist of two rollers disposed towards each other and at a distance from each other.
- This solution provides an embodiment of a machine 7 of simple structure, which permits most favorably the tying around of a flexible tying means, in particular a band of synthetic material. This is obtained, because the groove is disposed in a feeding belt guided around the packing piece. Due to clamped-in tying means a removal thereof from the tying means drum takes place. Thus, the otherwise necessary feeder rollers moving the tying means through the channel can be eliminated.
- the driving force requirement for the feeding belt, which is formed. simultaneously as a groove, moves within favorable limits.
- a device provided at the exit location of the tyingmeans and enlarging the crosssection of the groove permits the reliable and careful emergence of the end of the tying means in this range. This can still be supported by a removal finger of the tying means projecting into the emergence location of the feeder'band equipped with the groove. It has been found that it brings advantages to design the groove in a dove-tail cross-section, the narrowed opening width is brought by means of pressure rollers to at least to the width of the tying means within the range of the entrance and exit locations.
- the closing device sits at the same length as the locations widening the cross-section, which favors the connection of the ends of the tying means.
- the pull back of the tying means prior to the connection is not interfered with by the deflection rollers determining the prescribed path of the feeder belt, since the deflection rollers consist each of two rollers spaced apart from each other. The distance corresponds, however, at least with the width of the tying means.

- a tunnel-shaped frame 3 extends from the table top 1, the opening 4 serving the insertion of a packing piece P set on the table top 1.
- a press 5 is provided on the frame 3, a pressure pad 6 of which engages the top side of the packing piece P and compresses and also retains the packing piece P. Under circumstances, such press can be omitted, since the tying means are guided on a predetermined path about the packing piece P.
- the feeder belt 10 is forced into a predeter-' mined path by means of deflection rollers 11, 12, 13 and 14, each of which consists of two rollers disposed spaced-apart towards each other.

- the feeder belt 10 is elastically deformable and consists of two outside-disposed layers 16 and 17 of synthetic material, as well as of intermediate layers 18 and 19 of tissue or the like, between which a further layer 20 of synthetic material is disposed, which layer 20 is connected by welding or the like with the outer layers 16 and 17 through the layers 18 and 19.

- a closing device 34 is arranged between the entranceand exit-locations 25 and 26 at the same height to the latter, which closing device 34 brings about the connection of the ends of the tying means, for example by welding.
- the tying means 23 taken off the roller 24 for the tying means is fed over a pair of rollers 35, passing the closing device 34 to the entrance location 25 for the tying means.
- the end 23 of the tying means enters the enlarged groove cross-section and clampingly retained after such entrance by the groove of the feeder belt 10, is guided around the packing piece P.'A removal finger 36 (FIG. 5) of the tying means, which projects into the enlarged cross-section of the groove and is disposed at the exit location of the tying means steers the end 23 of the tying means into the closing device 34, in which it is secured.
- the pull back of the tying means takes place by example by winding of the tying means on the drum 24, whereby the tying means guided around the packing piece, emerges forcibly from the groove 21 of the feeder belt 10 and engages the packing piece.
- the connection of the ends of the tying means can then be performed by the closing device 34, which feeds then the new end of the tying means to the entrance location 25.
- a machine for tying of packing pieces, of piles of packings or the like in which tying material is guided around a packing piece disposed on a supporting table and is brought after a following pull back of the over length into the taut engagement position on the packing piece, comprising a feeder belt running on a predetermined path as a cam'er of a tying means fed around a packing piece,
