Abstract

A glueing press, with operating and treatment stations arranged one above the other, includes a transportation system for transporting textile articles, which are to be glued together, from the operating stations to the treatment stations and back to the operating stations in such a manner as to provide shift free transportation of the textile articles. The transportation system includes a pair of circulating conveyor belts, which coincide, one directly over the other, outside the area of the operating stations such that the textile articles can be located and retained between the belts.

The press includes a rhythmically circulating conveyor belt for transporting flat shaped textile articles, which are to be glued together, from the operating stations to the treatment stations and back to the operating stations.
The invention proposes a glueing press with operating and treatment stations arranged one above the other, having a transportation system which facilitates shift-free transport of the flat shaped textile articles, which are to be glued together, from the operating stations to the treatment stations and back to the operating stations. Furthermore, the flat shaped textile articles are also to lie without any shifting on the transport element during treatment.
For the purpose of transporting the flat shaped textile structures, there is provided, in addition to a conveyor belt on which the flat shaped textile articles are to be glued together and which must be placed at the operating station by the operating personnel, another conveyor belt. The second conveyor belt is so located in relation to the first belt, outside the operating stations, that flat shaped textile articles are caused to be located between the two belts outside the operating stations. Such a transportation system allows the textile articles to be transported and treated without any change in their relative positions.
Further advantageous features of the invention will become apparent from the following specifications, giving examples, and from the claims.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal cross section through a glueing press according to the invention with two operating and two treatment stations;
FIG. 2 shows a longitudinal cross section through a glueing press according to the invention with one operating and two treatment stations;
FIG. 3 shows a section of the conveyor belt and its attachment to the drive and guide means.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS The glueing press 10, shown in FIG. 1, for glueing the flat shaped textile articles 12 (upper material) and 13 (liner), essentially consists of two upper operating stations 14, and two lower treatment stations l6, 17, as well as rhythmically circulating conveyor belts 18, 19. Operating station 14 is provided for the placement of the flat shaped textile articles l2, 13, which are to be glued together, upon the conveyor belt 18. Operating station 15 is provided for the removal of the flat shaped textile articles 12', 13', which have been glued together. The treatment station 16 is designed as a hotpressing station and the treatment station 17 is designed as a cooling station. Conveyor belt 18 is run over cylinders and rollers 20 while the conveyor belt 19 is run over cylinders and rollers 20, 21 and 21'. Both conveyor belts 18, 19 are thus guided outside the operating stations l4, 15 so as to adjoin one another with one strand. In thismanner, the flat shaped textile articles, located between conveyor belts 18, 19, can be transported and treated without any change in their relative positions.
The glueing press 11, shown in FIG. 2, has one operating station 38, under which treatment station 16 (hot pressing station) is arranged. The second treatment station 17 (cooling station) is arranged in the area of the return of conveyor belt 18. In this manner, the outside dimensions of the glueing press can be kept comparatively small.
With respect to the nonshifting transport of flat textile articles l2, 13, the conveyor belts 18, 19 are guided together outside the horizontally arranged operating and treatment stations l4, l5, 16, 17 and 38 in a partly diagonally falling and diagonally rising manner as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, or together in the form of a semicircle, as shown in FIG. 2.
Conveyor belts 18, 19 are driven by a power unit 35, preferably an electric motor, and a chain drive 36. Chain drive 36 is rhythmically connected to conveyor belt 18 which is moving in the direction of arrow 39 (see FIGS. 1 and 2). The arrow 34 on the other hand, shows the direction of movement of the external conveyor belt 19.
Conveyor belt 19 is preferably made of glue-rejecting material and should have several equally large, exchangeable sections 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32 and 33 in the longitudinal direction. Sections 27-33 are connected to each other by means of durable-elastic connecting elements 24, such as springs (see FIG. 3). This known design for a conveyor belt, within the framework of this invention, offers the advantage that conveyor belt 19 at all times firmly adjoins conveyor belt 18. In other words, a means for compensating for shrinkage and stretching of the belt is provided. In addition, as shown in FIG. 3, conveyor belt 19 should be attached along its side edges 22, 23 to drive and guide means, 25 and 26, respectively, especially endless chain drives, by durable-elastic connecting elements 24 (for example, springs). The drive and guide means 25, 26 are arranged parallel to each other and circulate rhythmically.
In order to automatically return any glued flat shaped textile articles, which stick to conveyor belt 19, to conveyor belt 18, there is included a scraping device 37 located in the vicinity of operating stations l5, l8 and preferably located at return cylinder 21'. Should conveyor belt 19 be subdivided in the longitudinal direction into several equally large sections, such sections being connected together by durable-elastic connecting elements 24, the scraping device is so designed that it may be lifted off belt 19, thus preventing damage to connecting elements 24.
In view of the differing nature of the flat textile articles 12, 13 to be glued together and the various glueing methods, it is recommended:
a. to perforate conveyor belt 19;
b. at hot-pressing station 16, to heat only the upper pressing plate 40 or the lower pressing plate 41;
c. to cushion the upper pressing plate 40 or the lower pressing plate 41; and
d. not to utilize a water-cooled or compressed-aircooled cooling station 17.
What is claimed is:
1. in a glueing press for glueing flat shaped textile articles with operating and treatment stations arranged one above the other, especially those having an upper deposit and removal station and a lower hot-pressing station, the invention comprising:
a. a first rhythmically circulating conveyor belt for transporting the flat shaped textile articles to be glued together from the operating stations to the treatment stations and back again to the operating stations, said textile articles being placed on said first circulating conveyor belt at said operating stations;
b. a second conveyor belt arranged such that said first and second conveyor belts adjoin each other outside the operating stations in such a manner that flat shaped textile articles located in between can be transported and treated without any change in their relative positions said second conveyor belt being subdivided,in the longitudinal direction, into several equally large, exchangeable sections, and
durable-elastic connecting elements for connecting the individual sections of said second conveyor belt to each other.
2. A glueing press according to claim 1 wherein said second conveyor belt is formed of a glue-rejecting material.
3. A glueing press according to claim 1 wherein said second conveyor belt is perforated.
4. A glueing press according to claim 1 further comprising durable-elastic connecting elements for attaching said second conveyor belt, at its side edges to drive and connecting means, especially endless-chain drives, whichare arranged parallel to each other and which circulate rhythmically.
5. A glueing press according to claim 1 further comprising a single power unit for driving said first and second conveyor belts.
6. A glueing press according to claim l further comprising a scraping means for freeing a glued article which is stuck to said second conveyor belt.
7. A glueing press according to claim 6 wherein said scraping means can be lifted off said second conveyor belt either by hand or automatically.
8. A glueing press according to claim 1 wherein the conveyor belts are guided outside the horizontally arranged operating and treatment stations together, partly diagonally dropping and diagonally rising.
9. A glueing press according to claim 1, wherein the conveyor belts are guided outside the horizontally arranged operating and treatment stations together, at least partially in a semicircular fashion. I
10. A glueing press according to claim 1 comprising at least two treatment stations, one of which is arranged in the return area of said first conveyor belt.

Claims (10)

1. In a glueing press for glueing flat shaped textile articles with operating and treatment stations arranged one above the other, especially those having an upper deposit and removal station and a lower hot-pressing station, the invention comprising: a. a first rhythmically circulating conveyor belt for transporting the flat shaped Textile articles to be glued together from the operating stations to the treatment stations and back again to the operating stations, said textile articles being placed on said first circulating conveyor belt at said operating stations; b. a second conveyor belt arranged such that said first and second conveyor belts adjoin each other outside the operating stations in such a manner that flat shaped textile articles located in between can be transported and treated without any change in their relative positions said second conveyor belt being subdivided,in the longitudinal direction, into several equally large, exchangeable sections, and durable-elastic connecting elements for connecting the individual sections of said second conveyor belt to each other.
2. A glueing press according to claim 1 wherein said second conveyor belt is formed of a glue-rejecting material.
3. A glueing press according to claim 1 wherein said second conveyor belt is perforated.
4. A glueing press according to claim 1 further comprising durable-elastic connecting elements for attaching said second conveyor belt, at its side edges to drive and connecting means, especially endless chain drives, which are arranged parallel to each other and which circulate rhythmically.
5. A glueing press according to claim 1 further comprising a single power unit for driving said first and second conveyor belts.
6. A glueing press according to claim 1 further comprising a scraping means for freeing a glued article which is stuck to said second conveyor belt.
7. A glueing press according to claim 6 wherein said scraping means can be lifted off said second conveyor belt either by hand or automatically.
8. A glueing press according to claim 1 wherein the conveyor belts are guided outside the horizontally arranged operating and treatment stations together, partly diagonally dropping and diagonally rising.
9. A glueing press according to claim 1, wherein the conveyor belts are guided outside the horizontally arranged operating and treatment stations together, at least partially in a semicircular fashion.
10. A glueing press according to claim 1 comprising at least two treatment stations, one of which is arranged in the return area of said first conveyor belt.
