Abstract

[Also in Divisions F4 and H5] In microwave heating apparatus comprising a plurality of upper and lower adjacent series coupled waveguide sections 1, 2, the sections provide V-shaped channels with aligned bases 6, 7, spaced apart to form a passage 8 through which printed sheet material 10 is passed on a conveyer belt 9 to be dried, and pressurized air, preferably warm air, is passed through apertures in the bases 6 of the upper V-shaped channels to accelerate drying and keep the sheets flat. Bases 7 of the lower V-shaped channels are apertured for pressurized air to provide air lubrication for the conveyer belt 9.
