Abstract

1409699 Drying film material LOGETRONICS Inc 19 April 1974 [19 April 1973] 17361/74 Heading F4G A dryer for film material comprises a housing 10, a plurality of rollers 13-20, 25-32, mounted within the housing in two rows so as to form therebetween a material transport path a drying zone formed on both sides of the path and means whereby heated air is blown into the drying zone and impinges upon the rollers to heat them immediately prior to their contact with the material as it is being transported, in use, through the dryer. The heated air passes on to the rollers 13-20, 25-32 through air inlets 38-54 from respective plenums. Each roller has a plurality of floating finger guides 67 associated therewith for scraping the forward end of a sheet of material from the roller should the material adhere thereto. The guides 67 are pivoted at a distance from their centres of gravity such that they are biased into engagement with a respective roller by their own weight. The material is guided into the housing by guides 33, 34. Pairs of squeezee rollers 21, 21a; 22, 22a are provided adjacent the inlet to the housing 10. The housing comprises two pivoted parts 8, 9 one of the rows of rollers being in each part.
