To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, ALLAN E. FRANCIS, of Cleveland, in the county of Guyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Toys, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to wind-wheel toys; and it. consists of a doublewinged device constructed in the form of a dragon-fly, the wings revolving in opposite directions, the device being constructed and arranged to operate as hereinafter described, and pointed out in the claim.

A represents the handle of the toy, which is made in .the form of the body of a dragonfly, into theend of which is secured awire rod, 13, upon which are placed two loose sleeves, O D, to whichare secured wings E F G H.

To the end of the rod B is fixed a head, I, which serves to hold the loose sleeves on the rod and to carry out the design of the dragonfly,which may have eyes and tentacula to complete the figure.

The two pairs of wings are bent or turned in opposite directions, so that when the device is carried toward or held against the wind they will have opposite rotary motions, and

thus give to the device the appearance of the fluttering of the wings of a dragon-fly.

The wings are formed of light wire, bent in the form shown, and covered with different colored paper, so that when rapidly rotating the whole device has the delusiveappearance of a large dragonfly.

If desired, the wings may have businesscards printed onthem, and the device he thus used as an advertising medium. 7 I

I am aware that flying toys having rotating wings and a head in, imitation of a flying insect have beeninade heretofore. I do not, therefore, claim such broadly.

Having described. my invention, I claim- The herein-described toy, consisting of the body or handle, a wire rod fixed thereto, and the loose sleeves playing thereonand held by a head on the end thereof, each sleeve having a pair of wings attached in such a manner that each pair rotates in opposite directions, substantially as shown and described.
