COMBINED ENVELOPE AND TAG.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 366,054, dated July 5, 1887.

To aZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it known that we, MARCUS L. WHITNEY, of Minneapolis, in the county of Hennepin and State of Minnesota, and GALEN B. YVHIT- NEY, of Port Jervis, in the county of Orange and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Combined Envelope and Tag, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures.

The invention will first be described in connection witlrthe drawings, and then pointed out in the claim. I
(1. represents the pocket or envelope portion of the combined envelope and tag; 6, the sealing-flap, and 0 the tabs, in which eyelets c are formed or placed for tying the device to any obj eet. The device is, by preference, formed of ablank of paper of the form shown in Fig. 3, the same having the main body pieces fg adapted to be folded together and secured at their edges to form the pocket or envelope portion a. The part 9 of the blank is formed with a tab, 0, while the part f is formed with a corresponding tab, and also with the side pieces, f f, which are folded under the part 9, and secured thereto by gum, mucilage, or other material. The part f of the blank is also formed with the sealing-flap b, which is semicircular in form, gumnied upon its inner surface, and separated from the tab 0 by a curved slot or clearance, h, so that there will be no difficulty in closing the flap over the tabs 0 for sealing the envelope, as shown in Fig. 2.
By forming the device as shown and described the same is very cheap and very convenient for inclosing bills, &c., to accompany the object to which the tag is attached, and for various other purposes.
Having thus fully described our invention, what we claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, isy A combined envelope and tag composed of the pocket or envelope portion a, tabs 0, and sealing-flap b, surrounding the tabs, substantially as shown and described.
