The resulting solution is sprayed gradually onto 6700 parts of dicalcium phosphate deep concave tablets in a conventional tablet coating pan. When finish dried, the resulting tablets are found to have the type of smooth, hard, glossy finish that is considered to be very desirable as a tablet coating uish by the pharmaceutical trade. These tablets do not disintegrate or dissolve in water at room temperature, even though they are stored in contact with water for one week. They can be dissolved in U.S.P. simulated gastric fluid in only one minute, however.
