Application filed February 20, 1886. Serial No. 192,695.
' county of Tazewelland State of Virginia, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bag-Holders; and we do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact desci iption of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appcrtains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to letters or figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
Figure 1 of the drawings is a representation of this invention, and is a perspective view. Fig. 2 isa top view of the funnel. Our invention relates to devices for holding sacks, bags, paper bags, and the like; and it consists in the construction and novel combination of parts, as will behereinafter set forth, and pointed out in the claims.
Referring by letter to the accompanying drawings, A designates the vertical shalt or upright, which is provided with a base, B, having holes 0, through which screws D are. to be passed into the floor, counter, or plank, accordingly as it may be desired to use the device for filling larger or smaller bags.
The dimensions of the device may be varied to suit the uses to which the device is to be applied; but the character of theinvention remains the same under all circumstances.
The shaft or upright A is provided at its upper end with a twine-holder, E, in order to have the twine conveniently at hand for tying the sacks or bags.
F and F are arms having eyes GG at their ends, through which the vertical shaft or stand (N0 model.)
passes, and II is a collar with set-screw H, placed beneath the upper arm, F, to hold the arms F F, which are connected by a bracering, I, to their adjustments. To the ring I a second ring, K, is secured by a threaded stem, L, passed through a seat, L, in the ring I, and held in place by a nut, L This ring K forms the seat for the funnel M, and is provided with small hooks or claws P I, to hold the bag or sack in place while being filled.
Having described this invention, what we claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, 1s-
1. The combination, with the stand or upright having the perforated base and the collar with the setscrew, of the arms F F, provided with eyes G G, and connected by the brace-ring I, and the ring K, having holdingclaws, and the threaded stem held. in a seat in the ring I by a nut, substantially as specified. 2. The combination, with the vertical stand and the adjustable arms connected by the bracering having a seat, of the second ring provided with the holding-claws, the threaded stem, and the nut, as set forth.
3. A bag-holdercomprising the standard having the perforated base, and the twineholder at the upper end of the standard, the adjustable arms connected by the brace-ring, the second ring provided with the holdingclaws and secured to the said ring, and the funnel, substantially as specified.
In testimony whereof We affix our signatures in presence of two witnesses.
