UNTTED STATES ATEN'I Trice.
JAMES H. FLAGG, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
SHAVlNG-CASE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 333,293,6atec1 December 29,1885.
Application filed September 10, 1884. Serial No. 142,654.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JAMES H. FLAGG, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Shaving-Case, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
The object of this invention is to provide a compact and convenient case, designed more especially for travelers use for carrying a complete shaving outfit in the pocket or satchel; and the invention consists in the peculiar construction and arrangement of parts, as hereinafter fully described, and pointed out in the claims.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, in which similarletters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures.
.Figure 1 is a perspective view of my new shaving-case. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal sectional elevation of the same. Fig. 3 is a broken edge View of a inodllied form of case, and Fig. 4shows in cross sectional elevation still another form of box designed for carrying shavingcreain in place of soap and brush.
In the form of case shown in Figs. 1 and 2, it represents a compartment or pocket for holding the leather or other strop, s. This pocket a is open at one or both ends to receive the strop, and upon one side of the compartment a is formed the compartments b c, for holding, respectively, a razor, r, and boX t, for holding brush it and soap 1). The compartments b c are on a line with each other, and are separated by the partition (1. The ends of the compartments a b c are closed by the flaps e e, which are adapted to be held in closed position by the clasps f f.
In the form of case shown in Fig. 3 the strop-compartment a is central to the com- (No model.)
partments b c, which are made one on each side of the compartment a, and in this instance the boxes b c are made shorter than the compartment a, and the flaps e, that close the ends of the case, are adapted to be locked together by the lock f.
- In the form of case shown in Fig. 4 the compartments a b are the same as in Fig. 3; but the compartment c,instead of being made flat, as in the other figures of the drawings, is made D-shaped to receive a box or tube of shaving-cream in place of a box for soap and brush.
The case made as described holds a complete shaving-outfit in a very compact manner, so that the whole may be carried conveniently in a traveling-bag or even in the pocketand the OJSBIS cheap and practical for its purpose.
Havingthus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. A shaving-case constructed to form a JAMES H; FLAGG.
