(No Model.)
, J. DORRANOE & G. L. EBERSOLE.
SUBSOIL PLOW. v No. 329,028. Patented Oct. 27, 1885.
I a I WITNESSES: 29 1 INVENTORIS ATTORNEY NITED STATES ATENT FFICE SUBSOlL-PLOW.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 329,028, dated October 27, 1885.
Application filed July 22, 1885. Serial No. 172,331. (No model.)
To alt whom it may concern.-
Be it known that we, J OHN DORRANOE and GEORGE L. EBERSOLE, citizens of the United .States, residing at Canton, in the county of Stark and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Subsoil- Flows; and we do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, in which- Figure lis a side elevation. Fig. 2 is a top view showing transverse section of post or standard and handles. Fig. 3 are detached views of the post or standard of the subsoil-plow and attaching-block. Fig; 4 is a detached View of the longitudinal brace. Fig. 5 is a detached View of the cross-brace.
The present invention has relation to sub soi-l plows; and its nature consists in the different parts and combination of parts hereinafter described and claimed.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures of the drawings.
in the accompanying drawings,A represents the beam, which is attached to the standard B in any desired manner, and to the standardB are attached the mold-board, share, and landside in any desired and well-known manner.
To the handle a is securely attached the connecting-block O, which is substantially of the form shown inFig. 3, and is attached to the handle a by means of the clamping-bolts b b. This connecting-block G is provided with the flanges c c, which are for the purpose of assisting in holding in proper position the post or standard D. The connecting -'block and the upper part of the standard D are proshown in Fig. 1, the forward end of said brace being attached to the post or standard B, as shown in Fig. 2. The cross-brace H is substantially of the form shown in Fig. 5, and, as shown, is provided with the slots I I for the purpose of adjusting said cross-bar H. The longitudinal brace G and the cross brace or bar H are held in proper position by means of suitable clamping-bolts.
For the purpose of properly adjusting the forward end of the longitudinal brace G, the slot J is provided.
Having now fully described our invention, what we claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
In a subsoil-plow, the combination of the handle a, the connecting-block 0, having the flanges c c and slot d, the standard D, carrying plow E, and having slot d and shoulder F,
the brace G, secured to standard D and to the lower end of handle a, and the cross-brace H, provided with slots I I, by which it is attached by suitable bolts to standards D and handle a, substantially as described.
In testimony that we claim the above we have hereunto subscribed our names in the presence of two witnesses.
JOHN DORRANOE. GEORGE L. EBERSOLE.
