  • My invention has relation to combined keyhole guards and cigar-cutters; and the object of the device is to provide a simple and convenient tool of this class for smokers and travelers, which will be useful for clipping the ends of cigars, and at the same time be serviceable as a key-hole guard; and to these ends the novelty consists in the construction, combination, and arrangement of the parts of the same, as will be hereinafter more fully described, and particularly pointed out in the claims.

COMBINED KEY-HOLE GUARD AND CIGAR-CUTTER.
SPECIFICATION forming part Of Letters Patent NO. 318,275, dated May'19, 1885.

$0 at whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE McGovERN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Richmond, in the county of Henrico and $tate of Virginia, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combined Key-HoleGuards and Oigar-Outters; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon,which form a part of this specification.
My invention has relation to combined keyhole guards and cigar-cutters; and the object of the device is to provide a simple and convenient tool of this class for smokers and travelers, which will be useful for clipping the ends of cigars, and at the same time be serviceable as a key-hole guard; and to these ends the novelty consists in the construction, combination, and arrangement of the parts of the same, as will be hereinafter more fully described, and particularly pointed out in the claims.

Figure 1 is a perspective view of my invention. Fig. 2 is a similar View with the case separated so as to show the two interior levers; and Fig. 3 is a perspective view ofa doorlock with the device inserted in the key-hole as a guard to prevent the insertion of a key from the outside.
The casing of the device consists of two halves, A and B, preferably struck up of sheet metal, the half side B inclosing the side A, as shown in Fig. 1.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and useful, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. The combination, with the casing A B, of the levers O E, provided with springs a a and projecting teats G G, as and for the purpose set forth.
2. The combination, with the casing A B,
having hole H, of the levers O E, each having a spring, a, cutting-edge e, and projecting teat G, as set forth.
