GATEQ SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 295,641, dated March 25, 1884. Application tiled September 13, 1883. (No model.)
.To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, N ORMAN B. HUEFMAN, a citizen of the IUnited States,residing at Grant, in the county of Fulton'and State of Indiana,
i have invented certain new and useful Improvements inGates, of which the following is a specication,reference being had therein to the ac-` companying drawings.
This invention relates o-improvements ingates, and has for its object to enable the gate to be raised land lowered to prevent the clogging up of snow, or to let sheep or hogs pass through Where other stock is not Wanted. These objects are attained by the mechanism illustrated in the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this speciiication, in which- Figure l is a side elevation. Fig. 2 is a detail View of the brace F.

Having described my invention, what I desire to secure by Letters Patent and to claim 1S The gate-frame having central vertical piece, H, provided with a series of perorations, G G G, in combination with vertical rod D, secured to the gate-post A, 'and provided .with swinging angled piece F, having flange F', for engaging with the perforations G G G in the piece H, and thereby securing the vertical adjustment of the gate, substantially as specified.
