LAMP.
Specification of Letters Patent No. 29,456, dated August 7, 1860.
lantern, as will be seen in the accompanying drawing.
To enable others skilled in the art to use and make my invention, I will proceed to describe its construction and operation.
I construct my lamps in tubular or oblong form, with a piece of perforated tubing B on the outside, this having a piece of wire fastened on the bottom, taking effect upon the seam on the top of the lamp A to prevent the lamp from dropping out. A ring or handle C is soldered on the perforated tube B so that when taken hold of, it becomes eX- tended by its own weight.
Vhat I claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent is- The combination of the lamp A with the slide or tube B when the same is provided with the handle C, so that when taken hold of the lamp drops down by its own weight, thus affording a lantern.
