QUILTING-FRAME CLAMP.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 290,940, dated December 25, 1883.

To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JOHN T. SNAPP, a citi zen of the United States, residing at Barterville, in the county of Nicholas and State of Kentucky, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Quilting-Frame Clamps; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and t0 the letters and figures of refer ence marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
My invention relates to improvements in quilting-frames,'the object being to furnish a simple, durable, and effective adjustable clamp for the purpose of rigidly securing the bars of quilting-frames at their points of intersection; and it consists of the combination and arrangement of parts, as hereinafter more fully explained, and particularly pointed out in the claim.
In the drawings, Figure l is a side elevation of my invention in position for use. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section view of the same. Fig. 3 is a top or plan view.

My device is made of metal or any other suitable material, and has the advantage of being light, strong, and quickly adjusted. By simply loosening the thumbscrew B, it will be seen that the clamp can be slid in either direction, and thus increase or diminish the size of the frame, when it can again be secured in position by simply tightening the screw. It should be understood that four clamps compose a set.
I am aware that changes in the form and proportion of the parts composing my invention may be made without departing from the principle or sacrificing the advantages thereof-as, for instance, the rib can be dispensed with, the plate thickened, or the lugs enlarged.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A clamp for quilting-frames, consisting of a main body provided with. the transverse loop (1, and the arm projecting from the body at right angles to the said loop, and the thumbscrew located in said arm, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
