PAIR OF CORSET-PANTIES Carmen Soteras Roura and Juan Ispizua Perez,

3 Claims. (Cl. 128525) This invention consists of a corset-panty which has been perfected to an exactly determined shape which endows it with marked advantages that make it superior to other articles used for similar purposes.
It is basically composed of seven pieces of resistant non-elastic material which, when joined to each other, produce an article with only one normal shape (since it cannot be deformed) which adapts itself to the lower part of the human trunk. This article which, as the title indicates, acts simultaneously as a corset-panty, is vertic-ally open at the front and is provided with a plurality of fastening means for this opening. The pieces which correspond to the back and front parts, each one of which, in turn, is composed of two identical pieces, are joined at the bottom of the article covering the part between the thighs, and shaped like a pair of panties. The lower back piece has an additional extended part which goes from a point definitely above the position of the side seams till it meets the lower part between the thighs. Such additional pieces are curved on the line joining them to the lower back part and straight along their lower edge.
One form of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawings, in which:
Fig. 1 is a front view of a pair of corset-panties according to the invention;
Fig. 2 is a rear view of the pair of corset-panties illustrated in Fig. 2;
Fig. 3 is a front view of a pair of corset-panties in variant form; and
Fig. 4 is a rear view of the pair of corset-panties illustrated in Fig. 3.
In the embodiment illustrated in the drawings, the corset-panty comprises a front piece 1, a back piece 2, and a lower piece 3, all joined together by suitable seams. Additional pieces 4 and 5 at the back of the garment extend from the side seams to the lower piece 3. All pieces are of inelastic material.
The front piece 1 of the corset-panty comprises two identical pieces In and 1b of inelastic material. These two pieces are joined in a lower partial vertical seam to form the front of the corset-panty, leaving the front vertically open, as shown at 6 (Fig. 1) above the seam. The vertically open front is fastened together as by a number of suitable fastening elements 7.
The back piece 2 of the corset-panty comprises two identical pieces 2a and 2b of inelastic material. These two pieces are joined in a vertical seam 8. The lower piece 3 is also of inelastic material and is joined by suitable seams to the two pieces 1a and 1b forming the Patent 0 "ice front and the two pieces 2a and 2b forming the back of the article, to extend between the thighs of a wearer.
In Fig. 2 the arrangement of pieces 2a, 2b, 3, 4 and 5 at the back of the article can be clearly seen. It is apparent that the article adopts the shape of the lower part of the human trunk to which it adapts itself. Once the front part is in place and fastened it always stays hugging the body, since the material of which it is made cannot give way or stretch. None of the pieces has any elastic means and in their stead the front opening is provided. The additional pieces 4 and 5 stop the article from sliding upwards, as they also adapt themselves to the shape of the corresponding part of the body. The arrangement of the lower piece lets the article be extremely comfortable, and it can be understood that its advantages surpass by far those of a corset, as it can be worn beneath an article as light as a bathing costume or a simple pair of trousers.
As shown in Figs. 3 and 4, the two additional pieces 4a and 5a are elongated downwardly and are formed of elastic material to confine the tops of the wearers thighs. Otherwise, the article is constructed substantially as is the embodiment illustrated in Figs. 1 and 2.
It is understood that the details for putting into practice the idea which has been outlined, can vary without changing the fundamental nature of the invention which is stated above.
What we claim is:
1. An improved corset-panty comprising two identical pieces of inelastic material joined in a lower partial vertical seam to form the front of the corset-panty and leaving the front vertically open above such seam, two identical pieces of inelastic material joined in a vertical seam to form the back of the corset-panty, a lower piece of inelastic material joined by suitable seams to the two pieces forming the front and the two pieces forming the back of the corset-panty to extend between the thighs of a wearer, the front and back of the corset-panty being suitably fastened together by seams along their outer vertical edges, two additional identical pieces of inelastic material each joined by a seam to a lower edge of one of said pieces forming the back of the corset-panty and by another seam to said lower piece, and means for fastening the vertically open part of said front of the corset-panty, the seven pieces of inelastic material each being cut to exact size whereby the corset-panty will fit closely about the lower part of a wearers trunk.
2. An improved corset-panty according to claim 1 wherein said two additional identical pieces of inelastic material each extend from above a side seam to the lower joining piece, and wherein the upper edge of each of said additional pieces is curved and the lower edge of each of said pieces is straight.
3. An improved corset-panty according to claim 1 wherein said two additional identical pieces are of elastic material and are elongated downwardly to confine the tops of the wearers thighs.
