One embodiment of my invention illustrated in Figs. l to 4 of the drawing consists yof a front wall A, a rear wall B and a record receiving means C. The front wall A is secured at its periphery to the rear wall B. The record receiving means C is in turn secured to the rear wall B and is mounted between the front wall A and the rear wall B. The front wall A has a rectangular opening therein and is provided with a column of vertically spaced designations or indicia adjacent one side of this opening. The opening affords access to the record receiving means C which preferably lcomprises a small individual paper pad horizontally aligned with each designation on the front wall A. Appropriate iigures or other data may be written on selected pads of the record receiving means C which may be revised as to any particular designation without replacing the whole sticker. The rear wall B is provided with means for mounting the device on a car or in any particular place desired.

The 'front wall A consists of an upper heading portion 6, a designation strip 7 and a lower heading portion 8. The rear wall B is,connected tothe front wall A by a plastic .istrip 1-1 which extends completely around the peripheryof the rear wall B. This plastic strip, of course, tends rto keep moisture from entering between the front wall- A and the rear wall B. .Mounted between the front wall A and the rear wall B, and secured by plastic strip 11, vis the recordreceiving means C. This record :receiving means comprises a plurality lof small paper pads 12, each consisting of a number `of superposed strips, which are mounted in the opening 9 by the plastic strip 11. These pads are made of a waterproof, ,grease resisting paper in order to withstand weather conditions and expected conditions of use. Pads 12 .extend about half way under designation strip 7. By doing so, the inner (left-hand, viewing Fig. 2) free ends of pads 12 are kept from being torn loose by the retaining or designation strip 7 which overlies the same. TheV record receiving means ,C also has an upper pad means 13 and a lower `pad means 14 which are secured by plastic strip 1,11to rear wall B. Although these pad'means consist of sheets of paper, they are not intended to be .employed like the pads 12 but .act .primarily .as a stiiening means for the device, thus affording greater durability. The record receiving means C is made of superposed sheets of oil skin paper or some similar waterproof, grease resisting material capable of receiving data written thereon in either ink or pencil. This device for maintaining data records is provided with an adhesive mounting means which, as shown in Fig. 4, preferably consists of an adhesive strip 15 on the back of the rear wall B with dry strips 16 and 17 at the top and bottom thereof. To cover the adhesive strip 15 initially is a protective backing 18. This backing is longer than the rear wall B,` extending beyond the dry strips 16 and 17, to facilitate its removal when it is desired to mount the -record maintainingdevice on any selected surface by means of the adhesive strip 15.

In the use of this device, when maintenance or other work is accomplished on a vehicle the results of which are desired to be recorded, such results or data may readily be written on the uppermost appropriate pads 12. After these figures are recorded the protective backing 18 is removed from the adhesive strip 15 by applying force between one end of the backing 18 and the adjacent dr-y strip 16 or 17. The device can then be mounted on the door jam of the vehicle or at any other desired position. When some particular maintenance is repeated on the vehicle, the data for that particular maintenance can be revised separately. This is done by sliding the inner free end of the top sheet of paper of the individual pad containing the data which is desired to be revised out from under the retaining strip 7 (toward the right in Fig. 2). This sheet can then be torn free from its pad and the new data can be recorded on the next unused sheet thereunder. Thus, my device provides a vehicle maintenance sticker which can be revised as to one portion alone without replacing the whole sticker. This, of course, obviates continually mounting new maintenance stickers on the vehicle everytime maintenance is performed on the vehicle. By emassaosl ploying only one sticker, the maintenance record is more reliable. This also makes it easier to locate the latest maintenance record. Further, the construction of the sticker is such so as to withstand weather conditions and insure longer use of the sticker.

Fig. 5 illustrates another embodiment of my invention. This embodiment is of similar construction to that shown in Figs. 1 to 4, except that it employs a different front wall. The front wall 19 shown in Fig. 5 has an upper and lower heading portion similar to that illustrated by

6 and 8 in Fig. 2. Extending between and integral with these heading portions is a rectangularly shaped designation strip 21 which overlies the inner free ends of pads 12 in the same manner as strip 7. The designation strip 21 also is provided with a plurality of horizontally disposed designations similar to those shown on designation strip 7 illustrated in Figs. 1 and 2. Each of these designations is aligned with a corresponding horizontally disposed paper pad 12 that is secured to the plastic strip 11 at one side with the free ends of pads 12 extending about half way under designation strip 21. Integral with and extending laterally from designation strip 21 are a plurality of securing strips' or dividing portions 22. The ends of securing strips 22 are secured to plastic strip 11, thus forming a rectangular opening 23 over each pad 12. As can be seen, each securing strip 22 overlies a lower marginal portion of one pad 12 and also overlies an upper marginal portion of the next lower pad 12. Further, the strips .22 can be made sufficiently wide so that the abovementioned designations can be placed on both the designation strip 21 and the securing strips 22, thus extending completely across front wall 19. Thus, there is a binding action by the designation strip 2,1 on the ends of the pads 12 and a binding action by strips 22 on the upper and lower marginal edges of each pad 12. This prevents individual sheets of paper from being inadvertently removed from the pads 12 while a recording is being made or `from ordinary wear and tear, yet

allows the individual sheets to be removed readily when it is desired to make a new recording.

It is thought that the invention and many o'f its attendant advantages will be understood from the foregoing description, and it will be apparent that various changes may be made in the form, construction and arrangement of the parts without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention or sacrificing all of its material advantages, the form hereinbefore described being merely a preferred embodiment thereof.

I claim:

1. A vehicle maintenance sticker, comprising a paper rear wall, a paper 'front wall having a plurality of rectangular openings therein, a paper pad interposed between said rear and front walls in registry with each of said opening and comprising a plurality of superposed rectangular strips, and means for securing the ends of said pads and the edges of said front and rear walls together, the top and bottom edges of adjacent said rectangular openings being defined by transversely extending dividing portions of said front wall.

2. A vehicle maintenance sticker according to claim l having individual indicia inscribed on said dividing portions of said front wall to designate different maintenance services, whereby appropriate records relating thereto may be written on adjacent said paper pads.

3. A vehicle maintenance sticker according to claim'l wherein said transversely extending dividing portions overlie the marginal edges of adjacent said paper pads.
