UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ANNA M. GREEN, OF DENVER, COLORADO.
METALLIC EYELET-FASTENING FOR DRAWERS.
SPECIFICATION forming part: of Letters Patent No. 280,032, dated June 26, 1883. Application filed April 6, 1983. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern 1e it known that I. ANNA M. GnnnN, a citizen ot' the United States of America, residing at No. 135 Broadway street, in the city of Denver, county ot Arapahoe and State of Colorado, have invented a new and useful l)rawers-Fastcning, (for which I have not applied for nor obtained a patent in this or any other eonntr v,) of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in drawers-ihstenings in which a metallic device consists of an eyelet adapted to be secured in a buttonhole, provided with a groove and flanges, and having an opening through it from the front extending upward, at an angle, so that the Suspender can pass down through it from above almost in a vertical line.
The object of my invention is to hold the drawers in a proper and even positiona tritlehigher than the pantaloons; and, further, to provide against wear of band by providing a metal] ie device consisting of an eyelet adapted to be secured in a button-hole, provided with a groove and flanges, and having an opening through it from the front extending upward at an angle, so that the snspender can pass down through it from above in almost a vertical line. I attain these objects by the buttonhole in garments, and the metallic device illnst rated in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 shows the entire drawers with metallic device, showing hole or opening at an angle; Fig. 2, the drawers inside of pantaloans, and onesuspemler t'astened; Fig. 3, the
metallic device, showing the hole or eyelet opening at an angle, Fig. t. a central sectional view, showing the eve, groove, and flanges, and a hole or opening at an angle.
Similar letters refer to similar parts throughout the several views.
The holes a and b constitute the opening in drawers through which the suspender passes, with the hole or opening of the eyelet at an angle and in almost a vertical line. d is the suspeinler-end, fastened to the pants-button and passing up through the eyelet. e represents the eyelet without suspender.
c 0 show the relative position of the eyelets attached to drawers.
f represents the lower portion of the eyelet hole or opening at an angle, and r thetop por tion of eyelet hole or opening.
71 represents the grooves and flanges around the metallic device, and i? the eyelet hole or opening in central section.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. The button-hole eyelet consisting of a metallic device adapted to be secured in a button-hole, and provided with an edge groove and flanges, and having an opening through it from the front extending upward at an angle, as shown and described.
2. The combination of the eyelet, as eonstrucied and above described, with an article of wearing-apparel, such as drawers, 81c.
