Among the principal objects of the presentinvention is the provision-of a cigarette making devicein theform-of acompact casing having at one endthereof a compartment from whence tobacco may be forced-into thecigarette tube or wrapper which is securely held, as above-mentioned, within the interior of the closed casing, the end compartment being y providedV with a short cigarette lling tube extending-interiorly of the casing andwhich serves not only to direct the tobacco into the cigarette paper, but-'also to maintain the mouth of the papersuitably eX- panded to facilitate proper lling Vofthe paper With-tobacco. It will be understood that the present inventiondsfsusceptible of other evariouschanges and modications which may be made from time to time without involving any departure from the general principles or real spirit of the present invention, and it is accordingly intended to claim the same broadly, as well as specifically, in accordance with the appended claims.

What is claimed as new and useful is:

l. In a cigarette-forming device, a hollow pocket-size casing having at one side thereof an opening adaptedito provideaccess toztheinterior of the casing and'at oneendthereof anexteriorly disposed tobacco-receiving compartment, a tubula-r member extending from said compartment -intothe-interioro said casing, said member being adapted to receive thereon in tubular extensionlthereoffaitubular paper wrapper for a cigarette, and :a closure member for said casing openinghaving means thereon adapted to 0perate-:conjointly with said tubular member to clamp one end of said paper wrapper upon said tubular member.

5. In a cigarette-forming device, a hollow pocket-size casing having at one side thereof an opening adapted to provide access to the interior of the casing and at one end thereof a tobaccoreceiving compartment, a tubular member extending from said compartment into the interior of said casing, said member being adapted to receive thereon in tubular extension thereof a tubular paper wrapper for a cigarette, a trough-shaped member secured to said casing interiorly thereof in rectilinear alinement with said tubular member adapted to receive the body portion of said paper wrapper extending from said tubular mem--VA ber, and a closure member for said casing opening having means thereon adapted to operate;

conjointly with said tubular member to clamp one end of said paper wrapper upon said tubular member and to operate conjointly with said trough-shaped member to embracingly support said extended body portion of the paper wrapper, said trough-shaped member having xedly'A mounted therewith at the end thereof remote from said tubular member a closure plate extending transversely across the axis of a tubular paper wrapper clampingly secured within the device.

In a cigarette-forming device as dened in claim 4 wherein said last-mentioned sealing means comprises a flat plate member extending transversely across the longitudinal axis of the tubular paper wrapper, said plate member being spaced from said tubular member to an extent sufficient to provide one end of the paper wrapper with an abutment engageable with said plate when the opposite end thereof is fitted upon said tubular member.

7. In a cigaretteforming device as dened in claim 4 wherein said last-mentioned sealing means comprises a pair of resilient clamping pads respectively supported upon said closure member and the opposite wall of said casing, said clamping pads being adapted upon closure of said closure member to clamp therebetween in flattened condition the outer end of said tubular paper wrapper.
