My invention consists I of a stove-lid constructed in three parts, two of the parts having flanges and projections, the said parts being secured together inlthe manner hereinafter described.
To enable others skilled in the. art to make and use my improvement, I will proceed to describe its construction and operation.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a top view of the lid. Fig. 2 is a vertical section of same at line y of Fig. 1.
The upperpart of the lid is made in two pieces, A B, forming a union at g. The parts A B are provided on the under side with a flange, D, having projections e. The under (N0 model.)
part, 0, is made in a single piece, with aslight depression in its upper surface, and is placed on the lower side of the parts A B between the flange D and projection e, and the parts A, B, and O secured together through. the medium of screws or rivets.
A lid constructed as hereinbefore described will compensate for the contraction and expansion of the metal in heating and cooling, and will be much stronger and more durable than the ordinary stove-lid.
Having described my improvement, what I claim i's- A stove-lid constructed in three parts, A, B, and U, the parts A B having flanges D, with projection e, the parts A, B, and 0 being secured together through the medium of screws or rivets, substantially as herein described, and for the purpose set forth.
