PRICE-TICKET HOLDER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 263,272, dated August 22, 1882. Application filed J nne 2, 1882. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EBENEZER WHYTE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Kansas City, in the county of Jackson and State ofMissouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Price-Tieket Holders, of which the following is a specification,reference being had therein to the accompanying drawlugs.
My invention relates to an improvement in price-ticket holders; and it consistsin the shaft A, having the tang b, collar 0, thimble A, and thimble-bar e, and in the combination and arrangement ot' the parts, as hereinafter more specifically described.
Figure l is a front elevation of my improvement; and Fig. 2 is a side elevation thereof, showing the price-ticket.
A represents the shaft of the ticket-holder, having the vertical slit a, Fig. 1, for reception of the ticket B. The shaft has rigidly secured in the lower end thereof the tang I), and is prevented from splitting by the tapering metallic collar 0, which is rigidly fastened on its lower end. The shaft is secured in a vertical position by tang b. It has also rigidly secured therein the horizontal thimble-bar e, which catches the thimble A when released from the upper and enlarged part of the shaft, and prevents its falling off the shaft. The shaft is made tapering from top to bottom. Hence the thimble A, which fits loosely thereon, when resting on the thimble-bar e, compresses and springs together the shaft at slita when pressed upward on it, and thus causes the slitted end of the shaft to clasp the price-ticket B when inserted in the slit, holding it securely in position.
Thus constructed,the price-ticket may be readily removed from the slits and others inserted to suit samples or commodities, the price of which, being marked on the tickets, is thus advertised.
What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The combination of the shaft A, having slit a, thimble A, and tang b, substantially as shown, and for the purpose described.
