The invention relates to a combination wallet and removable pull-out billfold.
An object of the present invention is to pro vide a wallet having the conventional billfold compartment with a secret pocket in which is arranged a secret pull-outbillfold which is not discernible when the wallet is opened in the usual manner for removing a bill from said billfold compartment.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a wallet of this character having inner and outer walls forming the billfold compartment and provided exteriorly of the inner wall with pockets, closed at the top, bottom and outer ends and open at their inner ends centrally of the inner wall of the wallet, one of the pockets receiving the inner cover portion and leaves of a card case having its outer cover portion arranged exteriorly of the card case receiving pocket equipped with a fastener part engageable with a complementary fastener part carried by an exteriorly arranged flap of the secret pull-out billfold whereby the engaging of the two-part fastener will retain the card case in the pocket provided therefor, and will also retain the secret pull-out billfold in the secret compartment of the wallet.
Another object of the invention is to provide a wallet having a secret pull-out billfold which will be entirely concealed when the wallet is opened in the customary manner and adapted, when removed from the wallet, to be folded and secured in its folded condition to enable it to be conveniently used as a billfold independently of the wallet.
It is also an object of the invention to provide a wallet having a secret pocket, open at one end of the wallet and receiving a secret pull-out billfold, said wallet being provided with means for camouflaging the open end of the secret pocket when the billfold is arranged therein so that the wallet may be used in the customary manner without disclosing either the secret pocket or the secret pull-out billfold.
With the above and other objects in view, the invention consists in the construction and novel combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying draiwngs and pointed out in the claims hereto appended, it being understood that various changes in the form, proportions, and minor details of construction, within'the scope of the claims, may be resorted to without departing from the spirit or sacrificing any of the advantages of the invention.

In the accompanying drawings, in which is illustrated a preferred embodiment of the invention, the wallet which contains the secret pull-out billiold is constructed of leather or other flexible sheet material and comprises in its construction an outer wall I provided at its ends with pocket-forming members 2 and 3 formed integrally with the outer wall and extending upwardly from the bottom of the wallet exteriorly of an inner wall 4 and provided at the top with flaps 5 and 6 which are folded downwardly and inwardly over the end portions of the inner wall 4 andretaining the inner wall in position contiguous to the pocket forming members, as more fully described below.
The pockets formed by the pocket forming members exteriorly of the inner wall are closed at the top, bottom and outer ends and are open at their inner ends centrally of the wallet. The pocket formed by the pocket forming member 2 receives a card case 1 comprising a cover 8, and a plurality of pocket leaves 9. The cover is formed from an oblong piece of leather or other flexible sheet material which is folded transverse- 1y to form an inner cover portion l0 and an outer cover portion II. The inner cover portion In and the pocket leaves are inserted in the pocket formed by the pocket forming member 2 and the outer cover portion II is arranged exteriorly of each consist of two sheets of Celluloid or other suitable transparent material, but any other desired sheet material may be employed in the construction of the pocket leaves. The sheets 9 are united at their upper and lower edges and the members of each pocket leaf are united at the back and suitably secured to the cover.
The outer cover portion H is provided with one portion I2 of a two-part fastener, preferably a snap fastener, and the complementary portion i3 is carried by a flap M of a secret pull-out billfold [5 which is arranged within a secret pocket it of the wallet. The flap I4 is arranged exteriorly of the card case, as clearly illustrated in Fig. 2 of the drawings, and when the two parts of the snap fastener or other fastening device are engaged, the flap l4, which is removably heldin.

The secret pocket It is formed by the cute wall I and an intermediate wall or partition ll connected at the top and bottom and one end it to the outer wall and suitably secured at its other end 9 to the adjacent end of the inner wall l. This provides an open end for the secret pocket at one end of the wallet exteriorly thereof and also enables the intermediate wall or partition to cooperate with the inner wall 4 to form the customary bill receiving compartment 20. The outer wall is preferably provided at the top with a marginal portion which is folded inwardly over the intermediate wall or partition H and suitably secured to the same, but the said wall or partition may be secured at its top and bottom and end ill to the wallet in any suitable manner. The inner wall is preferably provided .at its ends with vertical slits 21' and the flaps 5, and 6 are provided at their end portions with horizontal slits 22 forming tongues 23 which are inserted in the horizontal slits for connecting the ends of the inner wall to the flaps of the pocket forming members 2 and 3.
The secret pull-out billfold consists-of an oblong piece of leather or other flexible material forming the body portion thereof provided at the top and bottom with longitudinal bill holding flaps 24 and 25, and 25 and 2'], connected with the body portion of the secret pull-out billfold preferably by being formed integrally therewith, but they may beconstructed in any other desired manner, as will be readily understood, and they aresecured at their (outer ends .28 and Q29, ended and 3|, by stitching or other suitable means to the oblong body portion of the billfold {5. .The flap [4, which is cut off at its outer -end.sligh-tly diagonally, is preferably composed .of inner and outer layers 32 and 33 which have their inner .end portions secured to the body portion .of the billunder the edge of the slitted portion of the body of the billfold. When the secret pull-out billfold is removed from the wallet and is arranged as shown in Fig. 3, it may be conveniently used independently of the wallet, as will be readily understood.
The pocket formed by the pocket forming member 3 is adapted to receive cards, papers and the like and the wallet at its right hand end is provided with an auxiliary pocket forming piece 31 secured at its upper, lower and outer edges to the wallet and having its inner edge 38 preferably cut diagonally to facilitate the introduction of its fold l5 interiorly and exteriorly thereof,.asc'lear ly illustrated in Fig. 8 of the drawings, but the flap may be formed in any other desired manner, as will be readily understood. The upper and'lower flaps of the billfold 15 are adapted to 'retain'bills within the billfold which, when entirely withdrawn from the secret pocket of the wallet, is
34 formed byspaced diagonal slits35'in the'body portion of the billfold .liadjacent the end remote from the flap 14. The slitted area of the body portion is preferably covered at the inner face by a rectangular piece of thin sheet material 36,
which enables the flap ['4 to be readily inserted under the strap 34 without liability "of catching contents and. the removal of the same from the auxiliary. pocket;
The wallet is designed to be finished in the conventional manner to present smooth edges at the top, bottom and ends, and while the pocket forming members are indicated as being preferably formed integrally with the outer wall of the Wallet, they may be constructed in any other suitable manner to provide pockets exteriorly of the inner wall of the wallet. Also the outer wall is preferably extended beyond the open end of the concealed pocket, which, with the exterior arrangement of the flap of the secret pull-out billfold, serves to conceal the open end of the secret pocket.
The exteriorly arranged flap of the secret pullout billfold not only facilitates the ready removal of the same from the secret. pocket of the wallet, but when secured to the card case operates to retain the card case within the exterior pocket of the wallet and the billfold within the secret pocket of the same. I
I claim:
1. A wallet provided with a secret pocket ex tending longitudinally for the full extent of the wallet and closed at the top, bottom and one end and open at the other end, a removable pull-out billfold arranged within the secret pocket of the wallet, an exteriorly arranged flap connected at its inner end to the billfold and foldable over the wallet, and means for detachably securing the flap to the wallet whereby the flap substantially conceals the secret pocket of the wallet and retains the billfold therein.
2. A wallet provided with a secret pocket extending longitudinally for the full extent of the walletand closed at the top, bottom and one end and open at the other end, a removable pull-out billfold arranged within the secret pocket of the wallet, an exteriorly arranged flap connected at its inner end to the billfold and foldableoyerthe wallet, and a two-part fastener having one part earned by the wallet and the other portion mounted on the exterior of said flap, said fastener being adapted to hold the flap in closed position for retaining the billfold within the secret pocket and said flap substantially concealing the open end of the secret pocket.

5. A wallet having at least one pocket, a case having front and rear cover portions, the rear cover portion being positionable within said one pocket with the front cover portion adapted to overlie said one pocket, said wallet being provided with a secret pocket extending longitudinally for the full extent of the wallet and opening adjacent an edge portion thereof, a removable pull-out receptacle having a flap attached to one of its end edges, said receptacle being positionable in said secret pocket with said flap outwardly thereof and foldable downwardly onto the front cover portion of said case, and means for detachably securing said flap and front cover portion together.
6. A wallet having at least one opening parallel and adjacent to the medial fold line of said wallet providing access to a pocket, a case having front and rear cover portions with the rear cover portion thereof positioned in said pocket with said front cover portion adapted to overlie said pocket, said wallet being provided with a secret pocket and having an opening substantially at an end edge thereof through which a receptacle can be inserted for positioning in said secret pocket, a removable pull-out receptacle positionable in said secret pocket and having a flap extending from one of its end edges adapted to be folded down to a position overlying said front cover por tion of the case, and means for detachably securing said flap and front cover portion together whereby said flap retains the front cover portion in close relationship with said wallet and also substantially conceals the opening of said secret pocket at the same time retaining said removable pull-out receptacle in said secret pocket.
