1 Claim. 1

This invention relates to new and useful improvements in hair clipper guides.

The primary object of my invention is to provide an attachment or guide for hair clippers, whereby the clippers may be regulated or controlled to cut the hair at difierent lengths-short, medium or long-with the same clipper blades.

A further object of my invention is to provide an attachment of the character specified that is simple and economical in construction, and

highly efficient and durable in use.

With the foregoing and other objects in view that will appear as the nature of my invention is better understood, the same consists in the novel features of construction, combination and.

arrangement of parts illustrated in the accompanying drawings and more particularly pointed out in the appended claims.

In the accompanying drawings, which are for illustrative purposes only and are therefore not drawn to scale:

Figure 1 is a side elevation, illustrating the I application of my invention.

Figure 2 is an enlarged vertical transverse section, taken through the attachment or guide per se.

Figure 3 is a plan view of the attachment or guide, and Figure 4 is a vertical transverse section, taken on line 4-4 of Figure 2.

Referring to the drawings for a more particular description of my invention, and in which drawings like parts are designated by like reference characters throughout the several views, A designates a Wahl or other similar make of hair clippers, and B my novel attachment or guide, as a whole.

Specifically, my attachment comprises the adjustable guide I, consisting of the bottom plate 2 formed at its opposite inner corners with the upwardly extending ears 3. The upper ends of the ears 3 are formed with the transverse curved slots 4, adapted to receive the threaded shanks 5 of the screws 6, whose heads I fit against the inner faces and lower ends of the depending legs 8 of the U-shaped strap 9.

The U-shaped strap 5 extends over and embraces the nose III of the hair clippers A, and is fastened to the top wall of the nose by the screw II. Wing nuts I2 screw on the outer ends of the screws 6 and hold the guide I in adjusted position.

In practice, the ears 3 of the guide I are adjustd either up or down as required, relative to the screws 6, to regulate or control the length of hair-short, medium or long-that may be cut by the barber by the same clipper blades. In practice, the bottom plate 2 of the guide I when turned up in position against the bottom of the clipper blade, fits approximately one-quarter of an inch from the teeth of the clippers.

While my attachment is shown applied 'to a small clipper of the Wahl type, it may be designed to fit any motor operated or vibrator clipper.

From the foregoing description taken in connection with the drawings, it is thought that the construction, operation and advantages of my invention will be readily understood, without requiring a more extended explanation.

Various changes in the form, proportions and minor details of construction may be resorted to without departing from the principle or sacrificing any of the advantages of my invention, as defined in the appended claim.

Having described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:

An attachment for hair clippers of the motor operated or vibrator type, comprising an adjustable guide for regulating the length of hair cut, said guide consisting of a bottom plate provided at opposite inner corners with upwardly extending ears formed with transverse curved slots, an approximately u-shap'ed strap of uniform width for supporting the adjustable guide on the nose of the clippers, said strap arranged with its legs disposed in an inwardly inclined position and fitting against the inner faces of the correspondingears of the adjustable guide, screws extending through the legs of said U-shaped strap and the slots of said ears, nuts screwing on said screws against the outer faces of said slotted ears, and a screw for fastening the body portion of said strap to the top wall of the nose of the clipper.
